Doing a rewatch of Seinfeld, just started Season 6. The more I watch, the more I respect Jason Alexander and how his George held the glue for the show. Totally agree. Like yourself, didn’t notice it until the millionth time through. ‘Seinfeld’ replaced MASH as my favorite TV show.

Korean movies and TV series have developed quite a following state-side. I wonder what its appeal is, how it manages to capture such a following globally, whether its Squid Games to Parasite, it is making Hollywood sit up and take notice. My wife is really into Pachinko (the acclaimed best-selling novel) and wants me to watch the TV adaptation with her on Apple TV. Hmmm...is it worth it? Its a multi-generational story of a Korean family in Japan from early 20th century to around 1989 and the travails, tragedies and triumphs they faced:

Not a new series, but I finally gotten around to watching "The Lincoln Lawyer" on Netflix. I have read the Michael Connelly novel a while ago (the first book in the series, haven't read the rest), was mildly intrigued about the screen adaptation. But had other things to do so never gotten round to it until now.
Its a story about a LA criminal defense lawyer, Mickey Haller, who spends more time working in his Lincoln than his actual law firm, hence his nickname. The Netflix series adapts the second book if I am not mistaken, it starts out with Haller being down on his luck both professionally and in his personal life, with not having worked on cases for over a year and recently divorced, before a stroke of luck allows him to inherit a law firm and its cases...although it may be more than he bargained for.
I liked how the series mixes the standard legal procedural with the detective mystery thriller genre, which provides an interesting twist to the otherwise standard legal drama format. The series also has a certain quirky humor element thrown in here and there, which provide moments of levity between the heavy dramatic or suspenseful scenes. It reminded me of "Boston Legal" and "The Practice" in a way, which turns out it was no coincidence, since David E Kelly, the producer of those shows, also produced the "Lincoln Lawyer" for Netflix.
The series is not perfect though, some plot elements can be a bit predictable and there are some well-worn tropes or cliches of the legal drama genre that rear its ugly head every now and then. (It doesn't help that my wife, a real lawyer, would critique the inaccuracies of the show, hahaha).
But overall, its an enjoyable enough watch and bingeable, if you have the time for that. There is suspense and thriller element to the show that is missing from other legal dramas, so if you like that, it might be worth your time.
