Loyola is hoping that IPFW beats Lewis as they think that they have a better chance against them.
Loyola should not overlook Ball State (Defending MIVA Champs)
Lewis better beat IPFW quick. The longer the match goes you will see Lweis crumble under the pressure.
What do you all think.....I'm sure their are some educated thoughts.

Hey
It was a great 1st match and a dud 2nd 1 tonight. The Lewis-IPFW match was rather boring other than the yellow card Ptak got in game 2 and the bad line judge...other than that a real yawner. Martins did whatever he wanted with the offense and IPFW had very little quick attack to keep the block of Lewis honest.
The Ball State Loyola match was a different story. After traded 2 butt kickings in games 1 and 2, the two locked horns in a unbelievable game 3. Davis and Schuntzel were outstanding at getting their hitters great swings in that classic 43-41 game. Both teams had opportunity's to take game 3, but an overpass kill for schroeder sealed the game for Loyola. Game 4 also went overtime, with the Ramblers winning again 33-31.
Mike Alesch played lights out going for liek 24 kills and Davis pumped the middle any time he wanted to, as Schrioeder and Haas went for well over 30 kills between them. Zuidema carried the Cardinals all night netting 25 kills and Matt Denmark also played well in the loss.
It will be a GREAT Final tommorrow as the MIVA'a top 2 teams slug it out. Lewis has been the best team for 3 years and has just made its 1st MIVA Final in awhile. Loyola has been to the MIVA Finals 3 years in a row now and want to fianlly get over that huimp...should be fun!

My take on tonights game:
Loyola's strength - Shane Davis. When Davis moves the ball around, it's tough to beat Loyola. When passes are there, he establishes one of the best sets of offensive middles (Schroeder and Haas), leaving a lot of single blocks for Schnorr and Alesch. Alesch has really come on late providing another great option. As a result, even when Schnor has an off-nite (like last night against BSU), Loyola can pull it out. Six weeks ago Loyola wouldn't have won last night's game.
Lewis's strength - Outstanding overall talent. With Barretto and Meyer as their main weapons, Lewis gets a good swing at every ball. Elsea and Miller put up a big solid block and Stuntz is one of the best liberos anywhere. JR Martins moves the ball around as well as anyone in the country and has people who can terminate at every position.
Prediction - Loyola in 4. Loyola will have 4 guys with at least 15 kills. When it comes to crunch time, JR will forget he has other hitters besides Barretto and Meyer.

It doesn't make any difference, unless of course, you are from one of these two schools. They stand little if any chance against BYU or Pepperdine! Wipe-out!

i really like this loyola team. i'm pulling for them to win the MIVA.
haas and schroeder hit crazy good in the loyola-hawaii game. i think haas hit 1.000 with 11 kills or something. schroeder hit in .600s. this loyola team is for real.
and on another note, loyola is a jesuit university. i was talking to my friend who attends there, and she told me that the administration just sent out a letter to all the students "prohibiting sexual relations of any kind in any university dormitory or apartment." whoa.
