It would "seem" that the higher you send the ball, the less accurate you can be to placing the ball in a 3-5' area. You can't do net serves (serving close to the net) as you can with a short floater or flat serve trying to get net serve once in a while, you, IMHO, would have to get it past the 10' line MINIMUM, which would seem to make your problem NOT going deep (out)....I'll watch Adrian in the future to see if he's missing deep more than just randomly...

I will say the toughest skyball to pass is the only that is curling back towards the net and hits not the tape, but the middle of the net on the serve receivers side.
