Their libero choices were interesting. No Maloney or Sauer?

Was Max Preps in Minneapolis? Savannah Rennie...Torrey Pines, Wave 18-1s (finalist)...Cal. Great recruit, dominating presence. Lexi Sun, Jolie Rasmussen? If these three are left off the list and all play within 5 miles of each other, then there must be a lot of gifted players across the country left off this list (and I suspect a few that maybe shouldn't be on). This list seems like more regurgitation of the same names that have been around...Kylie Miller a good choice though.

i believe these are solely based on high school performance, thus if the players you listed do not play on consistent state champion high school teams and break state stat records, then they won't make the list...

Some coaches don't send stats to maxpreps or only send them sporadically. One year we had a parent who kept the stats and turned them in to maxpreps. One year the girls on the bench kept them. If these stats got turned in they probably weren't accurate enough to report on.

high schools stats should be turned into some type of governing body for volleyball in that state, here is the example from Georgia: ga.prepcountry.com/?m=10339&w=1&v=30&s=3accuracy of the stats is a common issue for most high school communities nationwide

It looks like a reasonable list with the exception of the 5'6" setter from GA. Max Preps incorrectly list her as 5'9". I'm not sure how she was put on a list with setters like Gray, Pickrell, and Lingenfelter. She is not in the same league. I realize this is a high school list but a player who hardly played as a DS and rarely sets on her club team is not an all american. How does max preps get their information? It's apparent they haven't watched this player. Her high school coach is her mother so maybe that's the answer.

J T is one of the best things ever on girls volleyball reporting and is worth every penny.

How on gods green earth is team USA member Savannah Rennie left off this list? She was also only listed as the "Next 30" on the top 50 junior recruits. Man, a kid playing for Torrey Pines flying under the radar is beyond me

How can you not have Lauren Speckman on the list? She is a JR setter from Archbishop Mitty. Last year, they were California state champions and ended the season ranked #1 in the nation by Max Prep. She also set the USA youth national team to a gold medal and is a Marquette commit. This is even more astounding in light of what tsunami said about the GA setter. This is only their pre season all American list so maybe max preps will get it right next time.

Maxpreps is a joke when it comes to volleyball. They look at a teams record and stats, both of which can be extremely misleading. John Tawa is the only source for accurate and outstanding high school coverage.
