Some people just aren't ready to embrace that attitude. I think either A (in the case of Breuer and Azenha) they have communication problems on one end or the other as to their value or his concern for them, or B (in the case of Naom Katz and the Pedros) are gifted players who aren't willing to buy into his "my way or the highway" way of coaching. i think in case B you mean the Jorges

"Like many UH players in the past, Motter has had some problems with Wilton. Don't the UH Athl. Dept see that Wilton sucks. I mean, first Pedro quits, then Motter." "There obviously must be something wrong within the University volleyball program if these players are quiting the team. First Pedro and now Matt." I truly don't believe someone being homesick is due to the UH Athletic Department and the coaching staff.

i meant that nowhere in an article (advertiser, star-bulletin, uhathletics.hawaii.edu) did it say pedro quit because of wilton (whereas when breuer quit it was well known that he quit because of wilton).

I know that it wasn't in any article about Azenha leaving because of Wilton, I was referring to the posters' remarks whom are basically blaming UH for Azenha wanting at one time to quit the team.

I know that the newspapers stated that Pedro quit because of him being homesick and other personal problems, but I have inside information that states otherwise. It wasn't published in any newspapers.
I have talked to Pedro on occasions and he has told me other things as well. Yeah part of the reason was that he was homesick plus other things factored in to why he quit in the first place.
But the main thing is he is back and hopefully he'll stay for the remainder of his career because he will be one of those impact players for the Warriors in the future.
I just hope things get better and more players decide to come and stay at UH and this situations don't hurt any prospects that want to come to UH.

If you truly care for Azenha's well being and believe that the UH department is doing nothing for him or giving him a hard time, then perhaps you should voice it by sending in a letter to the Honolulu-Advertiser's editors and they will print it out in the area of the newspaper where people voice their opinions on things they want change (for instance) or/and want the rest of the community to know about. Once a UH offical reads that, action is normally taken place since UH would hate for that to pegged onto them. If you don't, then I question your sincerity of both your concerns over Azenha's well being and even knowing something that the newspapers have printed about him.

2 things
1. There isn't a coach in in Men's volleyball who hasn't had a conflict with a player at one time or another. Egos and differences of opinions rage at the collegiate level.
2. You are all talking about 2 players who have yet to prove anything in college. Hopefully they will someday but until they do I feel this discussion is a waste of time.
move on!

Zimet wouldn't say that unless he didn't think Azenha was any good. 2) It must not have been a waste of time, since you didn't avoid this thread, but, added your thoughts to it.

knowing something that the newspapers have printed about him. Correction: knowing something that the newspapers have not printed about him. By the way, please don't respond back you don't want to post what was mentioned between you and Azenha concerning the coaching staff, since you have brought it up which I would think you would want to share in order to back up your case of the UH's coaching staff's tactics dealing with players on the team.

I didn't mention what happened for a reason. Then until you can provide proof (just a reminder, the burden of proof lies with the person making a bold claim as being factual), it will be considered a rumor. Why spread a rumor for?

Well if you want to think of it as a rumor than you do that.
But out of respect for Pedro and the rest of the UH Men's volleyball department I'm not going to say anything further.
