Can someone in the know please tell me what rules the AVP follows specifically? I have not been able to find a 2014 AVP rule book? Do they follow FIVB? Any link to the official 2014 rule book would be appreciated...

And the clarify, the CBVA seems to indicate that the AVP follows their rule book but the AVP does not seem to given that they allow net contact to occur on the top of the net...AVP seems to be a hybrid between FIVB, CBVA and USAV...very confusing...

CBVA follows their own rule book as they have published on their website. AVP attempts to follow the FIVB as close as they can.

I think even the FIVB reneged on their net contact, not 100% sure, but I think they are back to the "any contact" criteria...may still have "incidental" contact on the "continuation of a play" or something, but I think they retreated. Good luck finding an AVP rule contact....don't think it exists, just modification of CBVA rule book....all of this is pretty much hersay, though ; - )

D9 (20) 11.4.2 A player interferes with the opponent’s play while penetrating into the opponent’s space under the net. 11.4.3 A player interferes with the opponent’s play by (amongst others): – touching the top band of the net or the top 80 cm of the antenna during his/her action of playing the ball, or – taking support from the net simultaneously with playing the ball, or – creating an advantage over the opponent by touching the net, or – making actions which hinder an opponent’s legitimate attempt to play the ball. Sorry I do not have a link to the FIVB Report, about changing back to the old net contact rules. I suspect they have not upgraded the rules, to reflect this change. Last Oct/Nov another VB Player posted a link on facebook. I did read the News Release, on the FIVB Site. There was a conference, a vote was taken to change the Net Contact Rules, for the coming season.
