Minnesota had a very small defensive specialist who played in 2000 I think. I saw them in a tournament at UVA with Stanford and Radford.
My friend and I called her Mini-Sota since she was so small. She was just so cute you wanted to scoop her up and stick her in your shirt pocket.
I wonder whatever happened to her.

Kelli Wickes retired. Back problems.
She is now the head coach at Columbia Heights HS.
Another great kid.

Kelli and I share the same birthday - same day of the year - not the same year.

Wickes rules! Funny story about her. She cannot be over 5'1", and she was playing BR against Penn St, and Mike and Brian got talking and forgot to sub her out, and he played ONE rotation in front row against Penn St. And, Penn St didn't even hit over her. Whoops!!

I think it was the same match.
When she was subbed out of the front row they left her number on the board and is showed her has having something like 16 kills to that point for the match.
