Can people more knowledgable than me, tell me what is considered a good hitting percentage. I am talking about D1 womens college volleyball. What is good for an OH, MH and RS? I have always heard its like baseball, .250 is ok, .300 is very good, anything over .300 is great. Middle hitters should be near .400. So, what is poor, avg, good and great for each position at the D1 level. Thanks.

My opinion:
OH - Good: .285 - .325. >.325 is great MB - Good: .350 - .400. >.400 is great OPP - Good .300 - .350. >.350 is great.

D-1 is pretty massive...NCAA tournament quality teams obviously have higher hitting percentages than the rest of the nation. If I were to guess an aggregate of D-1 the two I would probably say OH in the .200-.250 range is about average, .250-.300 is good, .300+ is great. MB in the .280-.320 is about average, .320-.360 is good, .360+ is great. I know you said that MH "should" be near .400, and for a the top teams I would agree, but just as a point of reference only 23 players hit above .400 last year, out of thousands.... OPPS probably .230-.270 is about average, .270-.320, .320+ is great.
