Whatever happened to MSU?
All kinds of hoopla and they are turning us into Cubbie fans (i.e. Wait 'til next year!).

I don't know if anything happened, except that their preseason ranking was based off of last year's result and they were really a top 30 or 35 team going into this season, not the top 15 team the preseason ranking would lead many to believe. With starting almost all freshmen and sophomore (besides Moster), I had a feeling that they would get beat by these ranked teams.
They are really feeling the loss of Wicinski, Mathews, and Kelsay. Hopefully they can keep improving as the season goes on.

They'll be fine. Having Galloway on the left sucks, but until Toliver's ankle is better, she's the only option.
They're starting three freshmen and a redshirt freshman. They need time to gel.

What happened to Tolliver's ankle? Anyone know how long she will be out for her? Galloway had a lot of kills last night, but a low hitting percentage. Fitterer had a bad weekend too. Bright spots: Reining and Minarick last night.

Bright spots: Reining and Minarick last night. I always thought that Galloway would improve as a hitter each year, i.e. cut down on the errors, such that her senior year could be very good. Seems not meant to be. Tolliver hit for a low percentage against UNC and Duke, but then again so did all of the youngsters. With some experience I assume the MSU coaches felt her upside potential for 2014 is greater than Galloway's, which is why she was starting ? For the setting position, stats show they ran a 6-2 in the Oregon match and then 5-1 with Minarick versus Oregon State. Anyone care to speculate what offense will be in place by B1G play ?

MSU's second setter dislocated her shoulder against Oregon so I imagine the team will stick with a 5-1 in the foreseeable future.

Sparty is running a 6-2 today, but with Hubbard and Monson setting. They are down 2-1 to LIU-Brooklyn.
Edit: And LIU takes it in 5. Was kinda hoping Michigan St. would win a ton to help our RPI

That's kind of interesting...Monson setting? Has she set much ever? I know in club she was strictly a libero. HS?

WOOF! LIU was tough against PSU last year. Must have retained some good players.
