Why do so many waste their time analyzing and giving credit to female athletes when the quality is so substandard compared to the men. This area gets way more interest than the men's side and it's ridiculous. Not to say that tthe women aren't working hard but they just aren't good in any area.
Females for the most parts are weak in sports. They aren't fast, strong nor do they have anywhere near the physical talent that fellas have. So why are there guys in here concentrating so hard on what these girls are doing? Are you guys that desperate for some booty?
Look closely at the women's game. It is slow and chock full of mistake after mistake by everyone playing. I love volleyball and all its qualities but not the way the females play it. They make the sport look bad.

Nobody takes females sports seriously and that's part of the problem. There's not enough equal gender oppurtunity in sports. Guys get all the attention, glory money, etc. everywhere else in sports except maybe this one message board!
We may not be anywhere near as good as the men's volleyball but that don't mean we have zero talent!
I have noticed women's volleyball is on TV more than the men's side. Sorry about that ;D

Simple, I don't like to see guys in short pants jumping up and down. I know there's a lot of skill in the men's game. I know they have a natural advantage over the girls. I don't care.
There is plenty of skill in the women's game to satisfy me and there is beauty there too. There may be beauty in the men's game, but I want nothing to do with it.
Athletes are basically entertainers in the eyes of a fan. The only way men can entertain me personally is by beating the living crud out of one another in a game like football, hockey, baseball (breaking up the double play and running over the catcher are my favorite parts), lacrosse, auto racing, or ultimate fighting, to name a few.
But I suspect most people's reason for not following th men's game is because there is so much damn basketball to keep track of during their season.

The fact men are stronger and faster doesn’t make women sports unattractive. Women just don’t compete against men. FYI there are some exclusively women sports because women are better than men in some areas other than jumping, running or weightlifting. In some other sports women compete successfully against men and one of them is shooting. I wish I could see you, FemalesAreWimps with a gun or rifle in your hands against one of those “wimp” ladies. If you want a try let me know - I do know such a person. Don’t forget to take all kinds of athletic and physical talents with you. ;D |

In some other sports women compete successfully against men and one of them is shooting. Wow, there are women who like to shoot things? How come I never see them at the gun shows? |

First of all, I doubt if the "wimp" that started this thread is at all "real" or serious (note this was "wimp's" first post) -- just starting a thread to relieve boredom. If "wimp" truly IS serious, all that needs to be noted is that the last two men's D1 champs have been discredited for cheating their way to the championship (although "officially" the jury is still out on Lewis' punishment). How's that for a "quality" sport??  All they are managing to do is "paint" the whole sport an ugly black that is going to have an adverse impact on all the "legit" men's programs. -- and may cause some marginal men's programs to shut down!  I enjoy men's VB as much as anyone, but this makes me puke!! If you ARE "real," "wimp," I think you are just venting because you got cut off by your wife or your girl friend last night -- who maybe a great female athlete -- maybe even better than you!! ;D |

I have an idea. Let's put "wimp" in a room with Stacey Gordon, Cruz, Busse or Oganna to name a few, and see who comes out standing. No rifles needed either. I just might pay to see that one.

Wow, there are women who like to shoot things? How come I never see them at the gun shows? Most probably because those are run by men and attract mostly men public. I would suggest you to check the records of international shooting competitions such as Olympics, WC and European Championships. I bet you will find interesting things. Some years ago (4 or 5, if I’m not mistaken) one of those ladies was invited here in the US as a lecturer to share her knowledge in shooting with some high ranked police officers who wanted to improve the shooting training of their squads. |

I personally don't give a rat's ass whether men are more athletic than women. I judge team sports on their entertainment value to me as a spectator:
football - men
basketball - men (I loathe women's basketball)
soccer - both are boring as spectator sports but a helluva lot of fun to play
volleyball - I have a slight preference for the men's game but the women's game is great at the highest levels by the highest caliber teams. The middle to lower level women's/girl's teams play boring volleyball.
baseball - yuck
softball - double yuck
water polo - I hate women who wear stilleto pumps, and, um, what is there to like about water polo?
rollerball - the James Caan movie from the 1970s, not the one from the 2001.
frisbee football - boring to watch, fun to play, esp. with dogs.

You can't compare the two because women have different strengths than men. Men aren't necessarily better then the women just because they are bigger and stronger. Some of the top womens players would kick any men's behind. I can assure that some of these top women such as Ogonna, Kim W., Logan Tom, Danielle Scott, Aury Cruz, Cassie Busse will all be able to hang with the men if not take them out. Women are just as good as the men. Just because they aren't at the strength level or the size of men it doesn't make them any worse. I've seen lots of men's volleyball games and some of them were pretty bad. And one mentioned that girls at the lower level is pretty boring, boys can be boring as well. Just come to where I live and you'll find out that some boys at the lower level is very boring to watch. |
