Question is do you want to listen to someone sharp, or someone with more inflection.. Volleyball enthusiasts will usually go with the first.

So the men here like to listen to the men. Well, I think the women commentators are doing a good job as they hone their craft. It is after all a women's sport. Scates could use a bit more on air training so that the audience can better benefit from his expertise. IMO. I thought Heather Cox was interesting and informative but she hasn't done commentary in how long? Scates needs re-educated in GM2 culture?

During the Stanford v. ASU match, I could hardly hear Scates and was disappointed. Could have been problem with the sound system.
Or maybe he is a low talker.

It's the producer's responsibility to adjust mic input levels, not Scates FFS!
