Pollmiller doesn't set middles well, and that lets blockers cheat to pins. And those sets aren't great either. Yes, the hitters are making poor decisions, too. Too many errors, bad decisions.

Setting is NOT the biggest issue for Nebraska. It absolutely is. These performances have manifested due to a lack of consistency at the setter spot which has infected the attitude of the team. The hitters flat out don't trust Mary's placement or tempo will be there and that means they can't get into a flow. When you don't feel in rhythm all parts of your game breaks down. Why is everyone so afraid to say it? Cook made a huge mistake and sacrificed this whole season just to save Hunter's eligibility. Polmiller's setting may not be the best, but it isn't the only, or even main reason, for Nebraska's poor offensive showing. If you want to argue that "bad" setting has made the hitters timid, then that's as much an attacker problem as it is a setter problem, because there are plenty of example where the set doesn't justify the poor attack.

I still thought that set was played relatively well for the Gophers. Wilhite's just not terminating this match on all the good looks she's getting.

Who had the better setter the last 5 points of the third set? Clearly Nebraska. Is Polmiller outstanding? No but very serviceable. Setting is not Nebraska's biggest issue. Who set Fein to her hitting clip in the third? Oh yeah, Mary. All the while R1 and R2 continued to flounder in the hitting department.

Fien the difference maker for NEB. Rolfzens are well off tonight. Now she can't be doing well if the setting is that far off. That makes the other two look bad. ?
