does Texas charge admission for their home matches? Yes - I feel like it's pretty modest. Students generally get in for free. I think technically they have to have purchased a sports package of some sort, but when I was a student there just flashing your ID was enough to get you inside the gym.

Amy Neal not suited up, on the bench in a jumpsuit during warmups. Any idea what's wrong or just resting her?

Thanks. They must have some new process for buying student tickets. It was taking 4-5 minutes per student.

Nothing says "I don't trust my setter" like pulling your setter 10 points into the game.

Amy Neal not suited up, on the bench in a jumpsuit during warmups. Any idea what's wrong or just resting her? As the lineups were being displayed on TV, announcer Nell Fortner said Neal was sitting out due to injury, and Pilar would start in her place (like she did 2 matches ago, but not against KSU this past Saturday). What I found interesting was Nell stating that Eckerman was rounding into better shape, and jumping higher. Think she said something about her losing some weight, but perhaps I'm "misremembering".

I wonder if this means that we will start seeing a six rotation Eckerman? As much as I would like Eckerman to be on the court for all 6 rotations, her passing isn't strong enough to keep the team in system. She was really struggling with the 3 rotations she passes in when she's in the front row. At one point, they went to a 2-person receive formation to get her out of the passing lanes. But Eck wasn't the only one being targeted..so was Pilar. She passed a lot of balls that were off the net in serve-receive, which made the offense predictable since they had to hit more out-of-system. She was also slow reacting with her floor defense and missed several balls that went down for a kills. And when the passing/ball control is off, Nicole really struggles with her setting location. There were many balls that had to be pushed over. But credit to TCU for serving tough tonight. I was surprised to see Paulina pulled out of the match for Tiffany. I really like seeing Paulina taking rips on the ball. But I guess Jerritt wanted better blocking on the right pin because Tiffany doesn't add anything offensively from that position. She was, however, moved into serve-receive when Eckerman was struggling, so I guess there is that option. Dalton and Pilar also busted out jump float serves I haven't seen before this season... they just need to get more consistency. Texas as a team seemed out of sync and played flat tonight, with many players making uncharacteristic mistakes. I hope they really clean up the passing against Saturday's match with OU. I know that I've been one to criticize her, but I hope Amy Neal's injury isn't severe. She really does the little things that makes the team's 6-2 system run more smoothly.
