When was Loyola in the post-season every year? Certainly not under the leadership of Christina Hernandez. My impression was that after American and the Academies the rest of the schools in the Patriot were around 3-4 scholarships. Am I wrong on that? The NEQ's in Baltimore are 16 and younger which, yes, is recruitable, but it's a lot harder if you are only offering 1/5 of a scholarship. Granted, they shouldn't be losing to Coppin St and they should win more than 3 sets in conference, but this job isn't all rainbows and ponies. Which makes me believe this had to do with more than simply his win/loss record. There was nothing other than win/loss record. Let's not throw speculation of wrong-doing out where there is none. As for where the program stands, a roster devastated by injuries (only 8-9 healthy bodies for most of conference play, majority walk-on), is not a recipe for success. And for funding, they are the only program without a full-time assistant in the PL (I believe even Lafayette has a FT asst these days). Not saying Coach Lawrence did everything right, or that they shouldn't be improving (they did sign a really nice class this year). Maybe they plan to fund the program and get it to the level that is should be to compete in their new conference and decided to go a different direction. But I imagine they aren't going to change their funding or support, just allow another coach to be stuck in a sub-par situation.

They had a good stretch from 2007 to 2010, when they finished in top 4 in MAAC and went to playoffs. In 2007 (last year for K. Hernandez before she moved to Hofstra) they went 22-12 and 13-5 in conference play. Once Nina Camaioni (not sure if spell it correctly) graduates they started to drop down and as I mention before, moving to Patriot did not helped it either. Ok, post-season as in the MAAC tournament. I was going to say, I don't remember them being in the NCAAs - I could have forgotten once, but not 3-4 appearances!

Key words here are "up to". It could be anywhere from $1 to $70000. I don't think whoever gets this job will be making $70000. Unless its a really big name. Which it won't be.

Agreed, 70k in Northern Virginia is not going to go very far for quality of life. Also, if 70k is the top end then GMU is going to end up getting someone that may be good, but it will be a stepping stone unless that pay scale changes.
