You can mention another not so experience coach, who got hired at 26 (if my memory serves me correctly) who entire volleyball word knows now as Russ Rose. He actually had few years of head coaching experience prior to that appointment. But reality is much more of a failure then success. The success of those great few unfortunately is abnormality and only proof that we have few bright individuals, who are ready to succeed regardless of any obstacles. Still, the rate of failure of young female coaches is something to consider about before a) applying for the job b) hiring that person. I don't think you should not to try to grow and not to try to get a head coach job, but I believe that not every single coach have to be a Head Coach at some point of her/his career either. How many times you saw great AC not getting it done as a HC? Maybe it's just that some coaches better suited to be an assistants? I would say that current hiring trend is not doing any good to college volleyball and those coaches. I believe that loyalty should be rewarded and coaches, who spends 15, 20, 25 years of their life in gym and on recruiting trails should have better chances of getting Head Coaching jobs then bright, but unproven young ladies. You have to earn your stripes! ' very different world than when RR was hired. Tim is not a spring chicken either .

Beth Donnelly has been named the new head women’s volleyball coach at Morningside College.
Donnelly has been the head coach for the past five seasons at Olympic College, a two-year public college based in Bremerton, Wash. She replaces former Morningside head coach Sara Horn, who resigned following the completion of the 2014 season....

Curious if anyone knows the top 3 highest paid volleyball coaches and salaries? Hearing the TCU rumor about $250,000 has peaked my interest. TCU would not be amongst the highest 3, but would be in the top ten. The highest base salary is 500k.

I've seen - well, heard, technically speaking - TCU's short list. And it's very, very interesting. Domino effect guaranteed! [br How many Big Ten coaches in that list. Really don't want to lose one here.

Again those are base salaries. Great and well deserved contract for Hilbert, but he wouldnt be the 4th highest paid coach. Big props to CSU for recognizing his value.

Notre Dame spent the week gathering names from top coaches around the country. They are trying to gauge the market, decide at what level they are going to commit. Usual suspects names are in the hat, and some coaches have floated their names out there which I would believe is about creating leverage to improve their current situations, but also to see if ND is willing to go all out.

You can be tough, as long as you’re not toxic. Some coaches don't know the difference.

Who's this Chris Gonzalez guy I keep hearing about? Really? Your second post on VT and both are on CG.... nothing suspicious about that............
Pretty good coach... just don't know with these high profile jobs, he has the recruiting chops to secure this kind of job. Nor do I know if he's willing to give up his overseas job.

What are the thoughts on an Assistant in the B1G, PAC12, BIG12, ACC or SEC getting these "high profile" HC jobs? The ones that have a proven track record of recruiting solid talent, developing that talent, and are ready to move on to become a HC? I do agree there are those solid ACs that just like being an AC and/or already has been a HC and finds they are better suited to be an AC. Or do / should these HC jobs (ie TCU, Baylor, ND, soon to be domino moves, etc.) be filled with already established, successful Head Coaches?
I can see an argument for both. Just curious what the forum thinks.

I know virtually all big-school football and basketball coaches have agents. Do volleyball coaches have agents?

I don't know either. But anyone who gives up coaching professional athletes to coach this generation of American kids in an unbalanced system and it's broken system of entitlement is insane. I don't think the owner of the team is calling him into the office because mom and dad aren't happy with little Suzy' s playing time and called to complain that she isn't having fun. 6 figures with a 10 year guarantee...maybe.

They have no choice but to go all out! Well that simply isn't true. They could look at the contracts and budgets of ACC programs and decide to be among the top. They could say we want to be consistent top 25 and have a salary/budget commensurate with that level. Both are realistic, and both are choices.

The one job nobody is talking about is Doug Beal's which very likely will be open, and very likely could be filled by a college coach.
