What recent players do you guys want to see to be developed by UW staff? I don't want to name names....and or get that specific as some of them have yet to arrive at their respective schools. Perhaps my comment is more about the parents/players considering the wrong things when looking at perspective schools while being recruited. I wonder how many pick a school based upon that coaches ability to help them continue to develop into the best player they can be? My guess and experience says not as many as you would hope. Having said that, I would have loved to see the stud freshman oppo at UCLA with UW.

What recent players do you guys want to see to be developed by UW staff? Both Sophie Summers and Madi Endsley have a lot of potential. Marin Grote has developed nicely.

I figured I wouldn't ruin our 2020 thread with talk of the future since we are in the FINAL FOUR!!!!!!
But, ummmm, can we go after Diouf? please and thanks.

Every single top team in the country is gonna go after her. I would bet the usual “I’ll magically open up a schollie” schools do what they usually do and magically open up a schollie. (Washington is not one of those schools)

I always liked that the reason Krista Vansant picked Washington was that everybody else recruited her on the basis of "we're the best," but McLaughlin showed up at her house with a detailed four-year plan for how Washington would develop her. Sounds like what you're talking about.

It will be interesting to see how making the Final Four, or even going further, will impact recruiting.

However the schools that do that, unfortunately often get these recruits because of their bells and whistles and shady tactics. She probably won’t come to Hawaii, so I would love to see her at UW

Diouf would instantly make this team better, and she has eligibility through 2024.

In the age of the portal, "too many good players" is a real problem, but it's also the second-best problem to have, right after "nowhere to put all the trophies."
