The Rover has gone silent. Apparently, they miscalculated the length of the extension cord.
Now what?

Now you fire the guy that decided to skimp on the cheapest part of the whole project.

What next? I guess you send another rover up to measure how much additional extension cord is needed. Then send yet another rover up with enough extra extension cord for all three. I bet someone is wondering how rover two is going to get enough extension cord to make it beyond the first rover. I guess them there scientists will just have to be clever about that.

The Mars Rover is a joke. All we've seen from it so far are the same images of the Mars surface that previous probes have sent back, only with a slightly higher resolution - i.e. slightly bigger pictures of rocks. And it's this sort of project that is being funded at the expense of maintaining the Hubble? Puuhhhleease....
Being from the UK, though, I have to admit that the Rover did better than the Beagle, which disappeared from contact before doing anything at all.

Woo-hoo!
Good news: the Mars Rover is talking again.
Bad news: it's calling the NASA engineers " doofs."

A lot can be told from the pictures. I was fortunate enough to hang out with a geophysicist on call from Nasa on the Pathfinder exhibition. They sent him nearly live feeds and a lot of gizmos relating to the Pathfinder rover. These rovers are the first step, pretty soon, I am sure you'll start to see the results from the information they are gathering. I don't see the Hubble telescope taking this quality pictures of the details of Mar's surface.

Is there any truth to the rumor that Haley has the Mars Rover up there looking for replacements for Ross, Olsovsky, Davis and Company ;D
