I attended the memorial service for Cal women's BB player Alisa Lewis (who passed away from bacterial menengitis last Monday) today. About 2,000 people showed up at Haas Pavilion, including most Cal student-athletes and coaches. Several Cal VB players were in attendance.
It was a moving ceremony - she was apparently very well liked. Many of the speakers broke down and had a difficult time continuing.
Her funeral services will be in Spokane on the 27th. They also announced a memorial scholarship fund in her name will be established.
