While we've had a lot of final four repeaters, has there ever been a year when all four teams from a final four one year comprise the final four the next year? Since tournament spirit has begun, I researched for the answer to Tom's question, then challenge you all with a couple new questions. From my chart below (hopefully no clerical error), there have never been the same FF teams in consecutive years. 5 years came close with 3 FF teams from previous year. 2 years had no FF team from previous year. Now new quiz questions: 1. Which was the FF team that got left out in each of those 5 years? 2. What round did each of those 5 left-out teams reach? Year, # FF Teams Repeated, # Tournament Teams: 2013 2 64 2012 0 64 (Florida St, Illinois, UCLA and USC from 2012 did not make it) 2011 1 64 2010 2 64 2009 2 64 2008 2 64 2007 1 64 2006 2 64 2005 1 64 2004 2 64 2003 3 642002 1 64 2001 1 64 2000 0 64 (LB St, Pacific, PSU and Stanford from '99 did not make it) 1999 2 64 1998 3 641997 2 56 1996 2 48 1995 1 48 1994 1 48 1993 2 48 1992 2 32 1991 2 32 1990 2 32 1989 1 32 1988 3 321987 2 32 1986 2 32 1985 3 28 1984 3 281983 2 28 1982 2 28 1981 - 20

You are now crowned Mr-Know-It-All (or should that be RichKern?) Hawaii was the only #1 team that got knocked out in 1st round the next year. OK new quiz: Which #1 team reached only the 2nd round the next year, other than UCLA in 2012?

I suppose I could have phrased the last question tougher, like, which #1 team dropped the most places other than 1984 Hawaii and 2012 UCLA... Here's my last quiz -- I am out of idea after this : (B-I-K, you want to sit this one out for the other Know-It-All? ) Which #1 team rose from the lowest round from previous year, and what was that round?

I knew BIK was a show-off.
When I was in high school, my history teacher would, once in a while, hold Quiz Bowl type classes based on the reading as well as current events. It was a lot of fun for me because I knew all the answers. But I'm sure the whole class hated me for always raising my hand. I wised up eventually. As the semester went on, I grew to hate those Quiz Bowl sessions.

So it looks like 2 is the norm. If you had to pick just 2 , which 2?
