Its likely going to come down between BYU and Pepperdine. Whichever team wins the title will likely have the respective coach win COY.

I thought AVCA awards were decided and presented at a dinner before the Final 4... If that's true, the AVCA won't have the luxury of seeing who wins before presenting COY roy... but i could be wrong

Didn't Mike Hebert or Bobbie Petersen win it on the women's side this past year? I don't think the COY award always goes to the winningest coach. Nor should it always. It should go to the COY who goes the farthest with the team he or she is presented with. If that happens to be the coach who wins it all, so be it.

If that's true, the AVCA won't have the luxury of seeing who wins before presenting COY roy... but i could be wrong The AVCA timeline says that the COY nominations are due May 6, after the national champion has been crowned. The announcement will take place in June, giving the coaches ample time to decide who will win. I think that is why Wilton won it last year. While he did win a national championship, I thought Marv did more with his squad with fewer returning players. Had the voting been done before the Final Four, I would speculate that Marv would have won it.
