Rally alert. get off the phone IB. The Tigers are coming 29-25 29-26 The announcer is squeezing bricks every time they serve.
Match is over 30-36. It was a good rally but the Tigers really needed to get out of the gates better. They could have had this match if they did. Vandals never gave up and really fought hard.

26 kills for Groothius. That is a big time effort. She is the Pacific player of the game but I didn't hear them give anything out for Idaho. It's probably Meeks in my opinion. She only had 2 errors. She never wavered. Tikker was the hero of game 4 although better passing helped. Bennet should be a close second to groothius.

Pacific just came out too flat in the first two games, then played tough the rest of each of those games. Got to hand it to Idaho's big time players. Idaho had enough to do it and withstand any comeback surges, but in the post game show, Coach McHugh said 4 players had fevers and were throwing up yesterday. That will zap ya! A tough house for UOP the past 2 years.

Not to mention that Mussie has that shoulder. That could be the reason why hilbers and Uhl were inserted during game two. However Drollinger probably played her best during the first two games so go figure. It might have been interesting if they replaced the sick girls(don't know who they are so i'm on a limb). Groothius did very well so if Vinall and Mussie were not performing, maybe they shouldn't have started the match and then have them added in later.

One of my biggest pet peeves is excuses after a match.
First it was the officiating. Then it was the sickness and injury. Then it was Pacific didn't show up.
Does anyone maybe think that Idaho was just the better team?

Does anyone maybe think that Idaho was just the better team? Hey, I never said or meant to imply that the officiating was the Tiger's downfall! My philosophy on sucky officiating, is that the team needs to step it up and in this case realize they are being called on the net and then stay away from the d@%* net. BTW, when I state that a team didn't show up, it's not an excuse, it's a criticism. Of course Idaho was the better team (tonight), they didn't come out flat, they didn't let the officiating bother them (I believe you IB when you say the officiating sucks on both sides of the net...) and the coach was smart enough not to play an injured player before a healthy one.

Sorry PacificGirl, I didn't mean to sound like I was hollerin' at you.
I think the kicker was Jayne McHugh's interview saying they came out flat and were sick, etc. I'm not a big fan of hers anyway. She probably said some nice things too, I just didn't hear them.

I just meant that considering their meltdowns in game one and two, the Tigers maybe should have mixed it up earlier. Heck, who knows maybe Haeberle has the flu. Just because Idaho won doesn't mean they didn't also conquer adversity. They played a great game and in the first two games they dominated at the net 14 blocks to two. Not making many service errors helped too.

She probably said some nice things too, I just didn't hear them. Oh, Pg, Jr needed attention after the match. I didn't listen to the coach's closing comments. Yeah, Jayne can be a bit of a whiner. I don't always understand why she does things the way she does. I might have tried to leave Mussie out of the front row, and used Kara. But then, I'm not (volleyball) smart enough to coach a club team, much less a college team...

How is Uhl as a digger? she didn't really get a chance to play much defense. I mean if Uhl's not ready yet, there really isn't a need to speculate, shoulder or not.

Uhl has been used in the back row to replace Groothuis after Groothuis serves in a couple games. Uhl had 9 digs in 9 games. Mussie was still passing decently, no? It might have been nice to see Mussie playing backrow and Uhl in front row. I think a healthy Uhl might be better at attacking than a sore Mussie.
