Alex Blatt played on the 2008 team. She was mainly a backup for senior Hartmann. Right. My post was unclear. I meant she left the SPRI program, if she was ever in it. I forget the story.

Alex Blatt played on the 2008 team. She was mainly a backup for senior Hartmann. Btw, what club did Rachel Hartmann play for? I know she was from IL. Fusion She was also the 11th-ranked high school senior in the nation according to prepvolleyball.com. Not sure she lived up to that ranking, but I'm not a great evaluator of setters.

Are you talking about Blatt or Hartmann? We never got to see much of Blatt. I think she transferred or quit vb after 1 season.

I don't think Blatt played again. Not D1 anyhow.

As far as Hartmann goes, I see no point in tearing apart players from years past. She was a starter for at least a couple of seasons if I remember correctly, but more importantly, she was a Gopher for 4 years, never quit on the team or transferred and never did anything to cast a negative light on the program. I respect that type of player.

She started for 4 years, although she split time her frosh year.
Always seemed like a really nice person.

http://instagram.com/p/19KqVLr1yr According to the Gopher volleyball Instagram page, Volunteer Coach Kanno left the team today to become assistant head coach for the Japanese men's national team. Nice opportunity for him! Wishing him all the best. I know very little about him, but I suspect he was instrumental in getting the team Japan trip going and was invaluable as a guide during the trip.

I was wondering why everyone was hugging him yesterday.

I wonder how SSS and Poulter are going to compare to each other once season starts. SSS has an upper hand right now because she is already at campus playing.

Two things I'm working on:
It's Taylor Morgan, not Morgan Taylor. It's Alugbue, not Aglubue.
I am failing.

According to Coach Mccutcheon's Twitter they must have gotten another big recruit! "@mccutcheonmn: It's a great day to be a Gopher, a another big time recruit agrees! Chalk another commit up. #Gophers" He hasn't quite gotten that Twitter thing down yet, bless his heart.
