Yep! Me.
I'm not sure in what capacity, but I'll be courtside. Sweet.

I want to be there, but prior commitments prevent that.
"King of the beach" style. Probably Kerri will win. She can win w/ almost any player, seems like.

I want to be there, but prior commitments prevent that. "King of the beach" style. Probably Kerri will win. She can win w/ almost any player, seems like. My money would be on Misty. Although not as dominant at the net as Walsh, is still an above average blocker for her size. Nobody has a better combination of power and finesse hitting wise - she has a whip of an arm and just about every shot in the book. Plus, the "King of the Beach" type tourneys favor those players who are capable of playing both sides, which Misty can do very well. Walsh is probably not bad on the right considering she played RS during her indoor career, but she's never had to play right during her time playing on the beach. Beach volleyball really isn't that popular in Hawaii considering the environment. The community that plays is usually made up of the guys who get access to Outrigger and the Ft. DeRussy crowd. There's some folks who put up temporary courts at the Waikiki Wall as well, but I've never seen anyone who was ever any good play there. Indoor volleyball is much more popular in Hawaii, go by Palama gym and you'll see all kinds of shapes/sizes/ability levels hanging out and playing.

When I was home on vacation a few years back, I went out to play at DeRussy. After waiting forever to find a pickup partner and call ups on the main court, we got demolished by the guys holding the court. One of them was Kalia McGee, who I think played basketball at UH awhile back. Anyway, he was a damn good beach player too (a lefty, like me, except he's not vertically challenged like me...lol).
While playing beach ball will definetely build a superior all-around game, I don't much care for it. I like the complexity and speed of the indoor game.

I seriously would like to see Hawaii on the mainland playing some of the teams that they have beaten in the past. I wonder then who would have the home court adavantage.
