I was thinking about Fitzmorris. She has two incredible middles( that are young) at Stanford that she will have to wait on. I am curious if that will sway her decision? Fitzmorris is 100% Stanford. I was hoping she would have stayed in the Midwest somewhere. But no. She is attending Stanford.

Reeves will redshirt next year. She needs a lot of work at passing and will be a 6-rotation player for her club team this spring. Should be interesting to watch.
I'm excited for Foecke to play right, and only have 1 Rolfzen on the floor consistently getting roofed on an out of system set.

I think if the consensus is that Foecke will play RS, it will be whoever can be more consistent between those two.
FWIW: I still say as a freshman, Foecke will be MB. That way when she's a sophomore and Fien leaves, there is an open pin spot. We really are lacking a powerful middle blocker, and I don't think Meg, Kira, or Mel can provide that. From what we saw against Washington, Cici can be expected to do that next year too.

Amber plays right and Kelsey plays left, so I don't really see the comparison. I don't see Amber moving to the left, she plays defense about as well as the middles do. Fien had 40 more kills and 5 less swings than Amber did this year and Fien hit 57 points higher than Amber did as well.

I'll give you that Fien's hitting numbers are way better than Amber's, but if defense is the reason to not move Amber to the left, then why is Fien such an upgrade? Although Fien's defense improved since the beginning of the season, I would still consider Amber the better defender and passer. Also, as a right-y, I'd predict Amber's wrist away and line shots would be more efficient if she hit from the left side.

Considering Mary's connections with OH vs. RS I do not think you can compare numbers for Amber, and Kelsey and justify who would be a better hitter.

In my lineup for next year, Kelsey would be on the left and Foeke on the right. Amber would be right next to the manager who is live-tweeting the match. Why are we worried about Kelsey vs Amber when it comes to passing? They both were subbed out frequently for DS players and most likely would be next year too. The ball handlers that NU has right now need to be on the floor. Although if the only offense that NU is going to run is high ball to the pin like they did this year, passing isn't much of a premium.

I thought Inky was a sophomore? I am behind a year or so. Sorry to hijack this thread but Inky is a junior. bball, I certainly hope that you are true. Nebraska has a lot of talents already why not share to others? LOL. Fitzmorris will be a very good replacement to Inky if she is indeed considering Stanford.

I expect Amber to have a bigger role than helping with the live-tweets! With Kadie, Justine, Albrecht, and Hunter doing most of the passing next year, I expect NU's offense will be more diverse. Amber will probably be able to hit more seams... Curious to know if moving Amber to OH is actually an option for Coach Cook next year or not. It would help our discussions immensely.

If Foeke is as good as she is predicted to be, then Amber may find herself in a lot of twitter pictures. What would lend you to think that the Husker offense will be more diverse next year? Nebraska has always been a primarily pin-hitter dominated team, and maybe set a slide to a middle in serve receive. When a match is tight, everything goes to the pin. Nebraska set the middles a bunch in sets 1-3 vs Washington, but almost blew it in the 4th by going exclusively to the pin. They got two big kills from the middles on slides because UW middles had released to NUs OH hitters.

Huskers built up some nice momentum late this season. Let's hope we don't take another trip to China to derail that momentum and wear the team out.

Yeah, I'd hate to have them do more bonding and come back even closer than they were last year. If this team hadn't gone to China, it could have been a major disaster when things were tough, but the bonding they did last summer undoubtedly helped pull them through. They'll be a year older, stronger, and wiser in 2015 and I'm pumped to see what this machine can do when Hunter gets the keys (that last comment is in no way a slight to Mary, she willed this young team to some big big wins).
