Nebraska has been *a* power in the B1G since it joined. Are we seeing a change of the top program in the conference? Maybe, but Nebraska isn't the only program trying hard to take that top spot. Nebraska is presumably focused on trying to win the conference and trying to get back to the final 4. I think this year’s conference will be a showdown between Illinois and Nebraska. PSU and Wisconsin will be right up there, too, along with Minnesota, Michigan State, and OSU.

I wonder how Dorothy feels about this? Are we seeing a change of powers in the B1G? You shouldn’t act so surprised that recruits are starting to pick Nebraska over PSU. I mean, there are plenty of reasons to choose Nebraska over PSU right now.

I wonder if any recruits or college players are planning to go to Omaha to watch the World Grand Prix this summer and to possibly rub shoulders with Kim, De La Cruz, Kosheleva, or Sheilla. In Turkey, the players stick around after the matches to get pics with fans and to sign autographs similar to the way the Huskers do at the end of every home match.
I hope there's a huge turnout at the Grand Prix, so the FIVB continues to look at Omaha as a city to host these int'l events.

I think the B1G will be the top conference (excluding Rutgers & Maryland) top to bottom, but I think you are including too many schools with seven fighting for supremacy. I see 3 or 4 fighting it out for the B1G not 7.

The others that I listed will likely have 2 or more losses, but I predict they'll have winning records in the conference by the end of the season. I can't wait until the schedules are released this year; I hope the other schools have lined up some good OOC matches against quality competition, so it gives them the opportunity to move up in the polls if they win. Vbprisoner, any bold predictions of how many B1G teams will make it to the tourney this December?

The proposal isn't pretty and folks are not on the same page.

I will predict 9, but only if teams #8 & #9 have solid OOC schedules and the other factor that may have an impact will be if there is a bubble team and they play Rutgers & Maryland twice which could have a negative RPI effect.
The winner of the B1G will not be undefeated in conference, and similar to last year, it could be determined by the winner not having to play a top 3 team twice.

I see 3 or 4 fighting it out for the B1G not 7. So: "top to bottom, except the bottom?" The B1G has 14 teams, more than any other power 5 conference. If you compared the B1G first 12 to the PAC 12 the B1G will be tougher top to bottom for that. I know you have to take the entire conference, but I also think most of the teams in the PAC will take a step back except Stanford for 2015 and several teams in the B1G will be better in 2015.
Maybe more accurate statement would be.......If you take the top 10 teams from every conference the B1G will have the best teams top to bottom of the 10

... But that's a terrible methodology. Against the WCC (where you couldn't even take a Top 10) you'd be comparing the absolute worst team to a midlevel one. Like to like, and don't hide the bottom dwellers. They are diluting the schedule after all.

Are you sure that Chesney McClellan actually considered PSU? Just asking. Over the past year, she's just one of four top recruits that picked Nebraska over PSU: 1. Foecke 2. Maloney 3. McClellan 4. Holman Throughout their recruiting, all four of them talked about Nebraska players' success overseas and on the NT. They were also enticed by the palatial Devaney and a nation-leading 8000+ fans every home game. I think we're finally starting to see the fruition of moving to the Devaney in our recruiting, and I hear the best is yet to come. I can’t wait until UNL’s third campus, Innovation Campus, is completed. It’s going to completely change the current surroundings of the Devaney, and I think it will be a huge draw for recruits. Now that Nebraska has filled most, if not all their player needs, can you name any top 2016 or 2017 players who have not committed yet. I know some will delay for Stanford but perhaps some would like to play on the NE side of the country. Thanks.

OK, I should have just said the PAC and B1G because those are the two premier conferences and the conferences that will have the most people debating who is better this coming season.
