My first thought was that she might be a bit short to be an OH, but after watching her play, that girl has really got some moves. She looks like she could play the entire back court by her self!! AND, there are some impressive 5' 10''OH's in the Big 10. What she may lack in height she makes up with her jump. Its nice to see all this talent heading to Husker land. I watched Ratzlaff and DANG! the girl can jump! Her 5’10” stature shouldn’t discourage her too much, because there are handfuls of top pin hitters internationally that are under 6-feet tall: 5’9”Lucia Bosetti Yukiko Ebata Anu Ennok Francesca Marcon Katarzyna Mroczkowska Saori Sakoda 5’10”Sanja Bursac Fe Garay Lisa Izquierdo Anna Werblinska 5’11”Aurea Cruz Antonella Del Core Maret Grothues Alex fits with Cook's intention of becoming a much more dangerous service team. Many of the girls they've received commitments from and are still recruiting are excellent servers. With the liberal sub rules, finding serve specialists is smart.

I noticed that she, Atherton, Foecke, and Smith have nice jump serves.

Does anyone know if the student section in the Devaney will be together in one section?

Does anyone know if the student section in the Devaney will be together in one section? that is the plan Wunderbar! Ever since the Devaney opened, Cook and Co. have been saying they’re unsatisfied with the current layout for the students, who are split up into the four courtside corners. The theme last year for the team was “Unite Tonight,” so I hope this aphorism brings together the student section(s) this fall.

After the team's tour of Asia last summer, Coach Cook said he wanted the Match Club to look into getting every ticket holder some thundersticks/bangers/cheersticks, if permissible.

Thundersticks are everywhere in Asia volleyball matches. They're played out by now. Nebraska should get cow bells, if the NCAA would allow it.

I haven't seen one NCAA women's volleyball team's fanbase use thundersticks, so it has yet to be played out stateside. Cowbells would be more apt for Wisconsin, since they're the dairy state.

Cowbells are what Mississippi State uses and because of the extreme noise the NCAA has banned them in any indoor event. The MSU home football games are deafening!!

I wonder if the coaches have given any consideration to Jada Burse for 2016... Her vertical was 10'6" when she was 16. Could be another big recruit for the Huskers similar to under-the-radar Allick!

I think there is something against noise makers. I recall a Hawaii match against Florida (possibly almost a decade ago) where fans were given thundersticks (or something) and Wise said something to the refs. The announcers had to instruct the fans not to use them and they weren't given out since.

I was wondering if PSU had given any thought to Jada Burse. How would she compare physically with Deja McClendon? Does Nebraska have any scholarships left? Didn't Jada score the match point for TAV as they beat AZ Storm for the 18 Open Vegas Title?

It was the 17 Open championship, and Deja is more polished and better backcourt player at the same age, but Jada Burse is a much better athlete than Deja. In my opinion Burse would thrive under the coaching of Rose or Cook.
