It's worth noting that Katie Brand, the starting setter for Kansas State, is from Grand Island. That probably increased the demand for tickets. And that also includes from Grand Island 2014 SR Taylor Johnson. * FWIW: I was told most of the tickets were purchased in groups of 10, and most online. Happy Hunting!!

How does WVB attendance compare to women's basketball attendance at Nebraska? I just wonder if this trend is common to other sports as well for Nebraska.

I just wonder if this trend is common to other sports as well for Nebraska. 8,000+ isn't uncommon at most Husker WBB games. The game on Sunday had close to 9K I believe. I would also point out that softball games are well attended compared to other B1G schools too

The women's basketball team has had 16 home games this season, with average attendance of 5,857. This compares to average attendance of 8,083 for the volleyball team last fall.

While Connie Yori has had success, WBB is a princess looking up to the queen which is WVB in NE.

Who remembers the BIG XII when more Nebraska fans would show up to the Colorado and K State away games? I miss those matches in Manhattan, which were just a hop and skip away from Lincoln... now the closest in-conference opponent is twice as far away. =/
Anyone planning on travelling to any of the away games this fall?

Dorothy - I am not speaking about Yori's salary vs. Cook's salary. In the the fans eyes WVB is queen as to Football is King. That is a simple fact. I happen to support both. NE is lucky to have both Cook, and Yori even if I don't always agree with their choices.

So, friends and family of Katie Brand didn't purchase tickets for a match they might otherwise have little or no interest in attending?

I think it was pretty much a given everyone recognizes that football is the priority.

We always go to Minn. Had tickets to Madison last year but had a death in the family so had to give up our tix. Might try again this fall.
