Well, considering Penn State doesn't know who's the starting setter is, I have to favor Stanford for now. Considering Stanford is SURELY without Inky, possibly without Burgess and Lutz, breaking in a new libero, possibly starting 4 freshmen and you favor them in a match that wlll almost surely return 4 All American hitters? ummmmmmm ok He was talking about Bugg being a better setter than whoever Penn State puts on the floor........

She'll have better hands than whoever Penn St. puts on the floor.

Makes sense. Given Stanford's early season position, I think they have to worry about going 0-5 to start.

Bugg certainly has more experience than any setter PSU plays. In a couple weeks, we'll be able to gauge her performance in head-to-head competition.

Classes started around the country, (sans-Stanford) and we are 4 days away from season.
It's been a long 8 months.
Safe bet the PSU lineup will be an evolving one this year, perhaps more than other in the past.
Then again, they may hit the ground running and never look back.
As far as Bugg, she seems like a super nice young woman and I wish her a tremendous Senior year.....except against PSU.

Per Russ, both setters will play this weekend.

Per Russ, both setters will play this weekend. I'd imagine every available player will play this weekend.

Wow, Russ seems disappointed with the setter position. I guess that was bound to be a problem but I'm puzzled by Weiskircher not stepping up to be the announced starter. I can't wait to see match with Buffalo.

I'm not sure I would call it disappointment. He just indicated that neither setter has won the job yet. Maybe Rivera is ahead of the curve as a true freshman or Bryanna is behind the curve as a redshirt freshman. I suppose we will know more after this weekend.

It's a battle. Maybe we will see both set a 5-1, involved in a 6-2 and maybe even Krause setting a little from the backrow.
The season is long and practice can only simulate only so much.
Plus, what's the urgency to show all of our cards in the first week.
