Nice touch on the practice uniforms. Too bad they can't put stars on the game jerseys. I'm sure there is some Big Ten or NCAA prohibition. ![](http://i.imgur.com/8XdQi3L.jpg)

you're not comfortable with them as the favorite but the only acceptable goal is the NC? I would say the goal would be a title, but it wouldnt be unacceptable if this group didnt get there. I think a great goal is for them to compete for the Big and NC. Winning them would be a bonus. I'm sure their goal is what it is every year, to be the best team they can be Setter - Stanford Disagree completely. I can't begin to explain how overrated I think Bugg is.

The last couple of times Penn State had a real battle for the starting setter role was in 2006 and 2011. In 2006, it was 2 elite prospects in Glass and Yanz duking it out. Rose chose Glass and she went on to lead Penn State to three titles. Yanz ultimately ended up transferring. In 2011 it was Carp who just led PSU to a title, and Hancock who was a freshman. Hancock won and eventually led PSU to three Final Fours and 2 titles. Carp ended up playing a minimal role her last two years. With Weiskircher and Rivera, I think we'll see the same in that Russ will pick one, and the other will essentially be a non impact player for PSU volleyball over the next three years. It may sound harsh, but that's how Russ has found so much success this decade. Weiskircher is clearly ahead having been in the program for a year. Clearly ahead? You've never seen her in any matches or drills, but she's "clearly ahead?" Interesting. I'm not sure how likely it is for a staff to offer a scholarship to an international student in the same class as his current redshirt freshman setter if he's happy with her development.

Disagree completely. I can't begin to explain how overrated I think Bugg is. Well even if she's overrated, Bugg is still a better Setter than any setter they will put on the floor. She's a first team AA, Recognized by the coaches, and she sets the middles beautifully. I think every coach in the country, minus wisconsin, would start Bugg.

I dont really consider myself much of a stanford fan, but it has always irritated me how Bugg underperforms in the big matches. It will be interesting to see if she can handle the big stage this year since shes a senior.

But anyone who thinks stanford doesn't have the edge over every team. besides Wisconsin, in setting, is crazy.

Or maybe he wants a backup setter? Considering they only had one on the roster. International or not. (BTW not saying who will start, cause quite frankly, I don't know nor do I care).

Having another setter does not mean they aren't happy with what they see with Bryanna. I don't know where you would think they are unhappy with Bryanna.

Disagree completely. I can't begin to explain how overrated I think Bugg is. Well, considering Penn State doesn't know who's the starting setter is, I have to favor Stanford for now.

Because you said and I quote I'm not sure how likely it is for a staff to offer a scholarship to an international student in the same class as his current redshirt freshman setter if he's happy with her development. Ever stop to think the reason they offered Riveria is because they need two setters on the roster, in case one gets injured and it has nothing to do with how Bryanna is performing.

Agree. I think thats her biggest weakness. She lets matches like that get in her head. As if you know. And you do? Ive watched Bugg just as much times as any stanford fan. I think its safe for me to say, that bugg does let big matches get to her. Stop being an ass.

Considering Stanford is SURELY without Inky, possibly without Burgess and Lutz, breaking in a new libero, possibly starting 4 freshmen and you favor them in a match against a team that wlll almost surely return 4 All American hitters oh and the match is at PSU? ummmmmmm ok ![(puke)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sick.png) edited, upon further clarification
