For sure. I feel like Oregon needs a middle no? Idk what the scholarship situation looks like. With Karson coming back we still only have 2 middles and I think 1 scholarship still available even with Alex coming early. It sounds like Elise Agi is also leaving the team to pursue a program that will allow for more playing time but she wasn't on scholarship. Yes, we still need at least another middle. I’d love a Carter Booth transfer from MN. 😉 Realistically though, with Dodson staying at UCLA, what other middle options do we think might consider Oregon as a place to land?

Kara McGhee she follows Oregon Vball at Matt but looks like Pitt and PSU are also in the running based on who she follows.

This means . . . something? Kara Mcghee Clicking the hashtag #ducksflytogether comes up with an...interesting variety of posts, not one of them having anything to do with U of O. Did Ulmer come up with that on his own, I wonder?

So with my crystal ball, I'd say 2023 Day 1 lineup would look like:
Pukis/Lewis Colyer/Acevedo Bacon/McGhee Murphy McClellan DS for Lewis Ferreira SS
I also wouldn't discount Neal to play a lot in the middle - depends on how her offense progresses in the offseason. I do think Acevedo goes 6 rotations from Day 1. Colyer obviously working furiously on serve receive in the offseason, we can't pass two w/o Brooke but Mimi's back row offense is too potent to have us DS her. Kelley and Glover for depth on the pins (even McClellan too). Thibault for depth in the back. Possible redshirt for Cline at setter?

Uhhhh have you ever seen the Mighty Ducks? The trials and tribulations of Gordon Bombay? Of course. I was referring to the phrase itself being used as a hashtag. Anyway, it was just an aside. Carry on!

I wonder how long that recovery is and if/how it impacts her play. Where do you see Maya De Los Reyes fitting in? Is she slotted to come in at Libero after Murphy leaves? Or maybe as a DS for Acevedo if needed?

And also, neither Bacon or Neal served last year. Did McGhee? If not, then Murphy obviously serves for one of them, but do we think Elise will be the SS for the other, similar to what Agi’s position was this year?

Not sure how much range we have to run it from. Bacon also has a nice tight slide and back 1 for a little spacing. Neal's slide is clunky. Both get a full offseason with Pukis (which they didn't last year - she didn't practice until start of camp), so hopefully they can get some timing down.

Do either Bacon or Neal have a slide? They started to try and run Neal on a slide too later in the season, but it seemed pretty hit or miss, even in warmups. They just hadn’t fully connected on it.

Maya de los Reyes I think came in twice all last season at the very end of a set to serve. Didn't get to see her back row skills at all. So, too early to tell if she is ready for the level or will play next season. She is a great cheerleader for the team though it seems. I would think if a DS is needed she or Thibault will be first in running, unless they are beat out by the freshmen OH/DS players, which is very possible.
