I don't think we can turn down great transfers in any position right now. Especially a former 1st All American B1G Player of the Year. Unless we are expecting those kinds of results from Acevedo already. Again, not that it's a done deal but just saying. And yes, the hitters seem loaded but we can always move people around a little bit. It's not like Glover on the right was lights out in her few moments either this year. We desperately need are the setter, libero and DS transfers, especially to keep some momentum going.

She was absolutely capable of that this year but Lewis played so well and certainly deserved and earned her spot this year. Bringing in seasoned veterans to replenish key positions every year certainly is a strategy. Pitt and other programs who are playing their talented Freshman rather than loading up the roster heavy with 22-23 year old transfers certainly is another strategy. I certainly don't fault a program for taking advantage of the new system nor do I fault talented underclassmen for going somewhere that they can play and develop their game sooner than later.

Might be tough to continue that strategy as the grad transfer opportunities slow way down with Covid years finishing up and the subsequent group of redshirts also exhausting eligibility

I don't think it's fair to expect anything from any player with the wild fluctuations in performance from year to year and Landfair comes with no guarantees as evidenced by this last season. I don't think Landfair is worth running off talented youngsters who may very well be better than her in the long run. This is just unwarranted speculation and makes zero sense considering Colyer and Landfair passing abilities.

How do we feel about Ung transferring in? Seems to be some tea about that. Obviously a seasoned setter like Ung would be great, but would Cline be okay to sit out 2 years in a row. Cline needs playing time, whether its as serving sub, 6-2, or part-time setting. I guess we will see if the tea becomes real.

I was wondering if Matt would play around with a 6-2 next year, even with Becca transferring. Ung could also be someone who could hit through the front row if needed. Then Glover and Cline could share the other slot. As much as I wanted a more elite setter transfer Ung would give us more possibilities and valuable experience. Fingers crossed we can snag a libero soon!

Ung would be a nice backstop to guarantee a proven "floor" (and avoid 2019-style shenanigans) but would still be someone Cline could compete against.

I got an Oregon fan in my STL based beer group to watch the regional final at least, as I had been trying to get him to watch Quack Attack volleyball all year! He really got into it! Hoping he watches more in the future!

I did tell him that fast offenses are hard to run, and Pukis ran it great in that match, plus made me Pukis with the success of her setter dumps! If you see a fast offense not working, you understand, as I told him! I am glad the Badgers got by a really good team playing really well in the regional final, which I will always remember. I just wish they had brought similar execution in the national semis, even if Texas was not to be denied!
