When you hit .507, you've had a good day. Way to start strong Ducks!

For those that don't know, 3 Ducks transferred to Hawaii. Jolie Rasmussen, Brook Van Sickle, and Kyra Hanawahine.
Both BVS and Jolie are starting at Hawaii, Jolie crushed it this weekend averaging something like 19 kills per match. And they won all 3 matches, 2 against ranked teams, one of which was Washington.
It's great to see them thrive, and let's face it, with how good Oregon has been recruiting, it became crowded here, and as thus, good to see them thrive. Let's hope they stay healthy.
Also note: Hawaii runs an interesting offense, 4 OHs/Opps, 2 setters, but the setter swap out for the middles, and no libero. Thus always hitters everywhere on the floor, and all hitters are 6 rotation players. Which also means that every hitter is essentially swapping between the pins depending on match-ups at the net. It's very fun to watch.B

Congratulations Kylie!! Pac-12 Freshman of the Week. Willow and Ronika had amazing weekends too, but nice to see Savannah Rennie from Cal get an honor after a great weekend and tremendous battle!

Any full game footage avail from this weekend? On Oregon Stream, so I don't think so, but Willow hit .595 with 21 digs for her backrow debut and Ronika hit .541 for the weekend with two aces!! They were really good and obviously to do that, passing was there and setting was on point!

Congrats to Kylie on the first of many accolades in green & yellow! She has the Ducks hitting .392 on the season, and .507 against UCI was the highest single-match total in decades! Great to see some momentum coming into our Bye week.

It's very fun to watch.B Jolie Rasmussen was virtually unstoppable, especially at crunch time. Passed well, blocked well, dug well, and she had a variety of shots from almost everywhere on the floor. Really amazing. BVS was no slouch either. She plays OH, not DS. Against San Diego, she had 6 blocks and hit a blistering 0.440 (12-1-25). Also had 14 digs and passed all night. She was everywhere. In some sequences, she was doing everything from passing followed by an x-play hit, a bomb from a D set during a broken play, spectacular digs to extend rallies, to a couple of solo blocks against 6'4" San Diego hitters. She kind of cooled off against St. Johns, but she came back against Washington and had some crucial plays in the decisive set to clinch the victory including some spectacular digs and 2-3 kills. She also had the match-winning kill on a crossing play down the middle.

Oregon has a new commit for the class of 2021, a 6-3 middle from San Diego Colby Neal. From Epic 16-1 and is apparently also a very good basketball player.

So as of now our future commits look like:
2020 Becca Morse, L, Arizona Annie Stadthaus, OH/MB, Texas
2021 Reagan Hope, MB, Arizona Daley McClellan, OH, Oregon Colby Neal, MB, California
2024 Alex Acevedo, OH, Oregon
I believe we still have a scholarship available for either 2020 or 2021 (but don't quote me on that) and one or two for 2022. We'll also likely be bringing in a huge class in 2023, but 2022 and 2023 won't have new commitments for a while due to the recruiting blackout.

Haven't kept up with Oregon this season yet. how's nuneviler doing? She was a phenomenal Libero, wonder if she'll do as well as she did this year hitting. Kind of question that decision as she could make it far nationally/internationally as lib. She is a good hitter and all around player but how's she doing against the blocks?

I was watching an NCAA highlight reel and I kept hearing Brooke Van Sickle and Jolie Rasmussen’s makes and thought it was Oregon playing but then I realized it was Hawaii. I’ve been MIA all off-season. Did NOT know about these transfers.
