Anderson did also literally dig arnitz off the court against ucla. dont think kanetake quite did that himself. I doubt Kanetake needed to dig Arnitz off the court himself when he was a supporting cast that do it as a collective group. But it does bring up this question: So now we are drawing comparisons based off of how each dug a freshman?lmao ummmmmm......ok. You are grasping for straws now. i agree ... i'm a stats guy ... i don't mind poring through stats. but yeah, the standard for evaluating players shouldn't also be based on the hyperbole of posters ... lol

yeah yeah. i wasnt trying to say one game one player look at this. it was just most recent games for both, and something to throw out there. I think that any libero should have a high level of passing numbers. You want your best passer to take the ball as much as possible. Especially when the other passers have to hit, or are struggling with tough serving. Anderson takes a lot of court, and he covers it exceptionally well. Kanetake looks incredibly small on the court, the gaps look massive on the hawaii court. Even with teams trying to keep the ball away from anderson, he sprawls and dives in front of the other passers quite often, and takes both seams from the middle more often than not, which is what you want out of a high caliber libero. I hate to reference another season, but Andersons sophomore year he was the country-wide leader for digs per set. It was in the MIVA, but he can dig. He can definitely dig.
I dont think this conversation will ever get resolved. We will just have to see how it ends up. It seems pretty balanced, and its nice to see liberos getting some recognition because they are often an overlooked part of the sport, but highly important. f

Could create a new thread, but to keep the previous discussions in one place. Any late season predictions? POY? FOY? I'm going with Jaeschke as POY.
