How many players are allowed on an NCAA DI Volleyball roster?

No specific limit in the rules. It's a max 12 grants of "athletic aid" but otherwise there's no stated limit. I've heard that UCLA's roster has been over 20 in the past. The issue may also be where to put the reserve players. I remember once I went to a game and one of the reserves (clearly on the roster) was in full uniform sitting next to me several rows back.
The NCAA Tournament has a max hard roster size. Maybe 16? They also have a max traveling party size that they'll pay for, but the athletic dept can pick up the tab for anything beyond that.

Penn State usually has 8 to 9 DS and when you add that to the other players it is like 20 or 21.

The PAC12 has a travel limit of 15 for conference games. I believe the NCAA tourney limit is 15 as well.

NCAA tourney traveling party (players and staff) is limited to 21 or 22. Any one over that number is paid for by the school. Only a maximum of 15 players can be in uniform for the match.

Does the size of the women's roster have any impact on the size the men's roster can be (if a school has both men's and women's teams)? Seems like I heard that somewhere.

Largest I've seen is Wichita State this past season with 23 players.

St John's University carried 20 on there roster last season St. Johns.. When are they going to be relevant again? St. John's in 2007 with a stud chinese OH nearly upset USC in the regional semis. They went 5 sets and lost. USC then swept a loaded Texas team the next day. |

They went 5 sets and lost. USC then swept a loaded Texas team the next day. Besides this OH they have the best setter that year! I don't think they will ever return to prominence. They got hurt couple times by NCAA compliance in recent years and Jo Jo decided to change recruiting strategy. Since Mario is less involved in both recruiting and game preparation they will be OK, but I do not see them back into tournament any time soon. |

No rules on NCAA limits but conferences do have travel limitations for their respective schools...
