Yeah Hooker, Tom, Plum, list of first tier players snubbed off the team is deplorable. Hooker, Tom, Plum, the Mt. Rushmore of volleyball greats! If you took a poll of 50,000 volleyball fans that didnt include her parents, nobody would have her on a list of even top 5 setters in the country.

More importantly, if you took a poll of the top people evaluating professional volleyball talent you'd get that same answer.

Berg wasn't even on the NT radar in college and after graduation when she played on a domestic team. She had to pay her own way for a two week trip to try-out.
Thing is Karch treats women like children so he doesn't really have faith in them especially since they can never be as good as him. He plays to the lowest denominator of height. He lucked out with Hill being able to pass well enough so far but Glass' blocking will never compensate her setting. Of course Karch wouldn't want to rely on offense without Hooker so he's compensating with net defense.
I also mentioned before Karch's system of fastest drone offense is incompatible with a free thinking setter. He relaxed a bit on that during the last WC out of necessity but that was long after he let Plum go without opportunity to set with her own decision making.
Let's face it, Karch is a control freak, and that's simply a desperate 'guidance' for the best players in the country.

Karpol led Russia (more accurately USSR) to 2 major title before the Cuban dynasty. However, he could not capitalized on the opportunities after the decline of the Cuban team in 2001. The reason is because he cannot get along with some of the players. Sokolova did not play at the 2002 WC and Russia finished third. Sokolova returned for the 2004 OG but this time karpol had problems with Godina but the Russian team overachieved and finished second. After Karpol retired. Godina immediately returned to the squad and the dynamic trio of Godina, Sokolova and GAmova helped Russia to win their first major since 1990.
Team USA has by far the best talent in the world right now. It will be such a waste if the best players are not playing simply because they cannot get along with the coaches.
the irony is the reason why Kiraly and Hooker cannot get along is not because they are completely different from each other, they are just too similar

I also remember that during the Athens Olympics, people were saying that Keba Phipps was one of the best outside hitters in the international game, but she didn't play for the USA national team b/c of some problems over a drug test. What if Keba was with team USA for those 10+ years? Lots of what ifs... which is why it's impt to not leave Rio without the Gold and these "what-ifs".

True and we all know what happened when Keba returned and USA should have won the 2002 WC if a freak accident did not happen to her. However, she showed her age at the 2004 OG and did not play very well

You have to be staying up all night to conjure up your fantasies. Plum is a nice setter, let it go. There is no conspiracy to keep her off the team. You fascination with Karch borders on rampant paranoia, try contacting him and have a one on one with him, or is the restraining order still in effect?

There is one major reason I would like to see Hooker with us in Rio. It is going to be difficult enough to win win with her, without her may be near impossible. I want her there in case we lose so I know we will have lost with our best lineup, and not have to listen to "if only Destinee was here."
Karch, bend a little, no one will think less of you. Destinee, borrow a needle from a ref and let some air out of your head and get back on the team.

CIF Using infantile trigger words like conspiracy makes you look a little stupid. I also have Karch's autograph from the old school AVP days when I worked as a ball boy. Karch doesn't like players who don't listen to him, like Hooker and Tom, we all know this. Moore used to joke Plum never listened to him, the arithmetic's simple.
