Marlowe just said on Universal broadcast of Moscow gold medal match that MRI on Walsh's shoulder showed no tears and no structural damage. So that is about as good of news as anyone could be hoping for considering the circumstances. Hopefully they can make it back for Stavanger. Great news. The woman of steel. Hoping KW a swift recovery and return. Carry on teams!

Um...she's not playing this week. Cause for concern? She's already had 4 surgeries....

I heard they are not coming back until Florida. That is quite a few missed tournaments. Hard work ahead for sure.

Recovery time for a clean dislocation (a USAV med guy popped her shoulder back in the players tent) vary's, but coming back in less than four weeks - assuming she's planning on playing St. Pete - is pretty tight. I wonder if she might not be better served skipping St. Pete and getting extra rest before the World Championships. That shoulder has been basically held together by kinesio tape and bubble gum for a decade.

Geddy I think they want to try and get a tourney in before the World Championships so they do not go into it out of sync. Bigfan your optimism amazes me. Are you not the same person who said MayWalsh could not turn it on and win the Olympics in 2012? I know you do not like Kerri but I think you underestimate her will to win. With that said you may have a point if the shoulder becomes a problem in the near future again April may be forced to move on before she falls too behind in points.

MayWalsh did not have a cake walk in 2012, Rosskessy beating the great Brazilians in the semis was a upset to me. This is the last go round for WalshRoss given their ages and the last time to cash in on endorsements. I Like Stanford as much as I like Texas. If Walsh is pulling a Tiger ross needs to reboot STAT!

You know I hear that all the time about Brazil not making the finals in 2012. That is their fault that they lost MayWalsh beat China in a great match and showed up for the finals. Also I think Ross will be back in 2020 she is young enough to go one more round. I do think if Walsh does continue to have injuries that April will be forced to move on. Lets just see what happens. Btw nobody had a cakewalk in the last Olympics and this one will be no different.

I will take that bet on 2020. Walsh will be retired and April will be the big USA name on the womens side. Just the money in sponsors and ads will make her rich. She will be back in 2020.
