This is crazy talk. Destinee could decide she wants to be on the Olympic team the day before rosters are due and she'd be included. She's one of the premiere hitters in the world.

Yeah, no offense, but that's not even close to being true. Well, not the part about her being a premier hitter, but the part about Destinee controlling her own, er, destiny in regards to the national team.

That site is a gossip rag ran by amateurs. It's the Perez Hilton of volleyball.

Destinee does things that no other right side hitter in the world can do. So if she's healthy, she'll be on the team if she wants to unless there is some sort of falling out with Karch. I like Kelly Murphy a lot, but she's not the weapon that Destinee is from the back row, nor does she leap the way Destinee does.
If the people at Texas had taught her how to serve a decent ball and how to defend, we'd be talking about her as the best female player in the world right now.

Because that would substantiate the theory that they have no clue what is going on in volleyball.

Obviously they have no idea about volleyball in the US, as indicated by this quote: "By opting out of the 2015 National Team season she will miss the Grand Prix finals which are to be played in Omaha, and which should draw huge US television interest" huge television interest? If by huge you mean the 5000 people that will watch the tape delay.

It's definitely tabloid trash. The author and Destinee have had spats on social media before because of the trash the writer will write about her. With so many people who follow/like Volleywood's pages, it's sad because if the author was truly educated more about the sport, it could be a viable reference for many people.

boy, I hope so. The alternative is total incompetence/ lack of research I read that article yesterday and had a similar reaction. I will say that I'm still a bit confused by the whole thing. There are a number of scenarios to Destinee's NOT being on he team. 1. She already burned a bridge.... sealed the deal.... and Karch has no interest in bringing her back. 2. Karch would like to have her back IF she agrees to follow the rules. 3. Destinee has already decided that she is done with the national team. 4. Or maybe there is some truth to all of the above. As for Volleywood, whoever is behind it does a good job.... I think. Let's be honest, the site is for volleyball enthusiasts who really are interested in worshiping the stars of the game. I wouldn't dismiss it as being a "perez Hilton" of volleyball. It does follow the sport pretty closely, but it is much more interested in the people than the play of the game.

It's a good source for pictures of attractive male players. The text should be presumed either nonsense or copy/pasted from somewhere else.

Can anyone give insight as to the rules that were broken?
How major/minor were the rule violations?
