Bakersfield & Sacramento State will join Hawaii, Long Beach, North, & Cal Poly
will give the Big West an auto-bid to the NCAA tournament presumably.

Any idea wether any of the other schools in the Big West are going to add sand volleyball? Maybe UCSB, UCI, or UC Davis?

UCSB would seem to be the most obvious choice to add - surprising that hasn't happened

UCSB was all ready to go a couple of seasons ago - they even hired a coach specifically as an indoor assistant/sand HC (Chris Sieffert). The administration subsequently changed their minds about financing a new sport and put the kibosh on the whole thing. Sieffert, who kind of got screwed, left after one season and there hasn't been any forward motion for the past couple of years in respect to establishing a sand program. But UCSB has a new athletic director as of a few months ago, so we'll see if things change.
Paula very much wanted a sand program at UCI, but the AD shot it down.
With the Big West formally sponsoring sand volleyball (not to mention its new status as an NCAA championship sport), schools like UCSB and UCI might be more amenable to adding now, and it will be interesting to see how it all plays out the next few seasons.

UCSB's new AD is the former Poly AD. can't imagine a more natural Sand rivalry than SB & Poly - East Beach vs. Avila Beach

Fullerton was supposed to start up a program but didn't have enough money in the budget. If their indoor program doesn't do any better I don't see them looking at sand volleyball as a priority to start up.
I'm glad they decided to add Bakersfield and Sacramento State. Not necessarily tough competition but enough to make a conference.
How would the scheduling work for this now? Would it be like indoors with a conference and non-conference schedule or just play the way sand volleyball has always been with playing anyone plus a conference tournament?

LB-Haw-North have been playing each other regularly
