Oleksak had a solid rotation option in Stivrins up 14-13 in the third and did got go to her, despite getting decent passes. instead she chose to go outside over the next couple of points to Spann, despite Spann's struggle to put a ball away then. Stivrins was Storms most reliable option to that point in the match imo. Oleksak did play amazing defense. CSU is getting a very solid setter. That's been that team's only Achilles heal over the past two seasons. The rotation when Spann is up with Oleksak is their key. When they side out in that one, they don't lose. Rarely drop a set or get challenged. BUT every time I've seen them drop a set or even a match, it's cause they did that same thing. In that rotation, they keep chucking balls up to Spann and hope she can get them out. In my humble opinion, it's their only weakness...and it seems like it cost them another national title. Is spann really not that good? She's going to colorado, a pretty decent school, so she must be talented.

I'm surprised Micaya White didn't make it. Kinda surprised that Dyer was named to the team over White You get a certain number of All Tourney selections based on where you finish, don't you? So Dyer's selection has nothing to do with TAV's choices. But you might wonder why those two TAV kids would make it over White. And the answer is...ask their coach...he probably nominated it that way. Oh okay sorry. Dyer is really good for Pepperdine she's a good one to have. And yeah I agree, Micaya should've made it over those other TAV kids. She was an absolute slayer in the first set against Tstreet but she just got gassed and a girl named Kathryn Plummer turned on her full out game mode.

She set well on the 6-2 and was LB best player. I think she would have shined even more if the team was not loaded with so many good players.

Is spann really not that good? She's going to colorado, a pretty decent school, so she must be talented. Talented, great leader, and strong fundamentals. She is just too small though. It says she's 5-11, maybe 5-10, so for UH setters, thats a decent height.

I'm surprised Laguna Beach beat FRVBC. I'm also surprised that Ruddins didn't get accepted into a better program she's a beast. It would be interesting if Laguna Beach goes up against Tstreet in the final. It would be a Stanford final haha. If Ruddins were 2-3 inches taller, she could start virtually anywhere Day 1. Glad to see her showing her talents!

As I've commented elsewhere here, she's had a terrific year in the SCVA, and I was glad to see that she obviously healed from whatever injury she had toward the end of the season. With her backrow skillset added, I'll go on record as saying she's better than any of the PAC-12 freshman OHs that started last year. So yea, she could start virtually anywhere. She will be the beast of the Big West.

Ruddins practically carried this whole Laguna Beach team in her back all tournament long. She has a wicked armswing and has a great volleyball IQ. Her backrow skills is very good and she can hit the BIC very well. Great recruit by UCSB. I see her as an all American by the time she graduates college,
