Took a ride out to this event. Bradford Beach is A really cool venue. Really good level. There are some solid teams on this tour on both sides...production level by organizers was well done too...

Great stream too. I saw maybe the best vet move ever. Whistle blows, Dipierro is serving. Dave Palm puts his hand up and Dipierros serves. Palm casually bumps it back over, expecting a reserve. Dipierro plays it, yells at his partner to set him and then detonates on an empty net.
As he hits it straight down he yells, "the whistle blew thats the rule." Dipierro gets the point. The best part? he was serving at 15-14 in the third game. Palm's brain cramp and Mike's awareness won the match for Mesok/Dipierro

Great 2 c McCoy win as he meshed well with MarkW I saw one of their earlier matches where they looked very new team confused-ish, but they pulled it out. Lot of parity on the NVL outside of the Puerto Ricans. Who broke up McCoy/Zaun? Also it would be really nice if Taryn could go 20 words without either using a nickname or forcing slang. I turned off the volume midway through Dipierro v Palm because she kept referring to Eric as Cookie. Its a thankless task, trying to do commentary for six hours and the NVL announcers really know the players etc. but it would be nice if they could tone it down a little. Still way better than Dain at last week's FIVB (or the soundalike if that was not him) "Be aggressive, you have to keep that serve in there, the team that wants it the most will win."

Zaun felt he could win exclusively with defense is what I heard. I can't stand watching that kid play. His attitude has to be worse than Camacho.

Zaun walked off the court without saying a word. Palm and Morales *relatively* calmly made their argument to John Rodriguez that Palm's hand was up..... Either way I think they ultimately knew that Dave was wrong for not passing the ball. These are paid refs with whistles that initiate play, its not a local tournament that you can just catch or bump back the serve in hopes of a reserve because you weren't ready.

I know a lot of players who would have gone a lot further if they lost on what they considered to be a bad call. (Karch comes to mind) If Zaun can win just playing D he didnt really show it in that match. He and Palm are tough to score on, but they weren't digging a lot of balls when I saw them. I would love to see Palm/Dipierro give it a shot. Mesko is ok, but Mike is almost back to his best and Jon is slowing him down a little
