So I'm here in my hometown of Toronto sitting in the media centre for the Pan Am Games. Here are my thoughts:
Geez, this tournament is slow. One match at a time, on one court. I'm missing the FIVB Tour like crazy, where I can pop out and watch 4-5 matches at a time with new ones constantly starting.
Canadian Teams: Binstock-Schachter Humana-Paredes-Pischke
USA Teams: Evans-Satterfield Flint-Larsen
I can't blame ya for not taking this event seriously, it really doesn't matter at all. The only reason these good Canadian teams are here are because we're hosting. I do like that Argentina sent Gallay-Klug and Brazil sent Vitor Felipe and Alvaro Filho.
And I'm also not allowed to shoot any video of gameplay so..... I might just bike home.

On the mens side there are some good teams competing: Mex, Chile, PR, Venezuela and even the Cubans

Just to add. If you haven't seen the Cubans they are fun to watch. Some good video on Youtube of them playing against Poland. They don't have the best ball control but man do they like to hammer the ball. I don't think they know what a roll shot is.

There were some high level USA pairs interested in going to Pan Am Games, up until the AVP announced the date for the New York tour stop.
