Those teams might have improved, but none of them will finish higher than Penn State, Nebraska or Illinois.

Michigan wins in four against GW (RPI last year of 59), swept Oakland (104) and swept WV (70). Iowa swept South Dakota (92) Maryland won in four against Kent State (166), swept Morgan State (269), swept Duquesne (152) and swept Hofstra (90).
While there are some solid wins, I am not sure that any of these teams have proven themselves as a B1G contender just yet. But as a Michigan grad, I am hoping for the best.

Iowa will have to control their mental breakdowns, it has been their achilles heel for some time now. Until they become more disciplined they will be mid division even with an excellent roster. Agreed about Michigan, Maryland is still 2 years off from being a contender. Very strong recruiting classes coming in this year and the next 2.
Minnesota is a crap shoot, they have all the pieces but similar to Purdue, the pieces are not always from the same puzzle

Did these teams really play the type of schedule where you can make that pronouncement?

Big Ten seems to be fast asleep so far this year.

Bond's Belles just went down to Northern Illinois. Best post of the weekend. Bond is positioning himself as the next John Bosley of Charlie's Angels...

Big Ten seems to be fast asleep so far this year. Not Illinois, they are poised for a "historic" season apparently.

I hope someone has one. Things are looking pretty bleak so far.

Bond mentioned to media that team was really bothered by tough atmosphere at Northern Illinois - packed house he called it. Box score listed attendance at less than 400.

I hope someone has one. Things are looking pretty bleak so far. Bleak as in PSU wins their 86th big ten and nc title? Well, everyone but PSU looks rough the first weekend, generally. And of course playing the likes of Buffalo helps. Michigan and Purdue perenially are the teams where it is hard to get a read on. And Michigan is always tough in the post season. Purdue started off great but then the top half of the Big Ten happened.

I wonder why it is that the B1G almost always stumbles in the pre-season but not the post?
