Who do you guys think will start for various teams this season? My thoughts:
Balboa Bay 18s: OH- Noah Dyer and James Thomas Oppo- Paul Castella Set- Matt Ctverlik MB- Will Hunter and the other normal middle Lib- Colin Mccalister (I say this bc he's too small to be playing OH)
949 18s: OH- Bobby Gaines and ? (need to fill that spot) MB- Jake Linsky and Tyler alter Lib- Jake Freeman Set/Opp- Sam Kobrine and Jon Minsberg

With the departure of Anastassiades to UH, 949 could possibly move Kobrine to the outside (where he plays on Corona Del Mar) and have Minsberg run a 5-1 and bring in an oppo like Aaron Strange from Coast
Also, the other middle on SCVC is Vecas Lewin from Pacific Palisades high school

SCVC has too many weapons. They have Jackson wedbush on the bench and he was arguably Mira Costa best player this year

my prediction (could be way off) SPVB 18-1: L1 Zack Meyer L2 Justin Reynolds M1 Kyle Piekeirski M2 AJ (forgot his last name) RS Kyler Kotsakis S Paul Bischoff All six touched over 11 feet at tryouts. Glad you prefaced this with prediction.
1. SPVB 18-1 is SPVB 18 Mizuno 2. They will finalize teams in probably 2-4 weeks. And those team placements can change throughout the entire year. Nothing is promised at SPVB. It comes down to who earns it each year. All 70+ players in the 18s/17s are competing for spots on each of the 7-8 teams in 18s. They have already had 1 week of practice. Though these are good initial guesses they may not all be true and final. 3. I would think Meyer, Kotsakis, and Bischoff are solid spots. 4. The L2 position is between 3-4 guys all who touch over 11 feet. 5. The M1/M2 positions are between 3 guys as well that touch over 11 feet, so there may be some shuffling there as well.
Makes for a pretty solid SPVB 18 Runbird team as well.

Cam Lilly and Thomas Kovanic should also be considerations for those starting spots on SPVB B18 Mizuno even though they are class of '17.
Next season (2016-2017) HPSTL will have a very solid 18's team. Kade Bontrager, Leo Henken, Ethan Bell, Ryan Whealen, Kyle Cohan, Alex Gettinger, Jacob Swyers, and their other tall middle.

You have to add in Ethan Carroll. 6'9" outside, he touched over 11 feet and he's got a great arm swing. He was on 18 wave last year.

SCVC 18's OH:Roy Mcfarland and Sean Morrisey(MVP of 17's) Op:Lucas Lossone (Who is getting comfortable with his size) Setter: Casey Mcgarry ( best setter in 18's) Libero:Sam Jones ( best Libero in 18's) Middles:Vecas Lewis and Steve This team has so much firepower in the chamber because they have back-ups that can start on any club team except SCVC.Such as,Jackson Wedbush who is known as Mira Costa as "Action Jackson" because of the finesse on the volleyball court.Lets not forget Brad Maricle (Bay League player of the year) who has recently commit for UCSB,He is such a raw outside hitter with a big future on his shoulders.

949 Starters OH - Erik Beatty OH - Grady Yould MB- Tyler alter/ Kyler presho MB - Jake Linsky S - Sam Kobrine S - Jon Minsberg L - Jake Freeman Oppo - Bobby Gaines? Does anybody know where Mason Tufunga and Aaron Strange are playing? Aaron Strange at Balboa. Gaines, Yould, and Beatty should split time at OH. Don't see this team going away from their 6-2 with Kobrine and Minsburg that they have used the last 2 years. Is Deblasio coaching this team? Or did Caldwell move forward with them again. Did Noah Dyer stay at Balboa?
