I could see us winning with nice looking volleyball or losing.
my 2 cents are worth 1.

Badgers in 4 over INC and in 4 over Louisville. I think Carlini's connections will be improved and with a bit more discipline in the back row the badger offense will emerge. Look for Kriskova to emerge as a powerhouse.

Goodness, I hope so.
I watched UNC v. USC, and while the Trojans won, I will say this: UNC has a BIG FREAKING block. Also, if you let them get their middles going, you're screwed. So without having run a Gary White Moneyball analysis of the hitters and their tendencies, I will say that the keys for the Badgers in this match will be serving tough enough that they cannot run their middles, and using their block effectively when hitting.
In other news, the sky is blue and water is wet.
We're going to this tourney. Looking forward to seeing Frick and drinking bourbon.

I really want to go and see both matches, it is 2 hours drive for me to Louisville, but PSU is playing this weekend and I am not going to miss.

And now I'm bummed that we're not going down a day early... Def Leppard and Styx are playing at the KFC Yum! Center tomorrow night.

I believe Tar Heel fans would correct you to say the sky is Tarheel blue.
So,big block? Work on the slide, spread the offense around. Any strength to putting the bigger Duello in for Bates at times? I know thats risky and Duello was playing from the right this weekend.
Well domo arigato Mr. Roboto.

UNC definitely started with an extremely tough scheduale. But they will probably win ACC because of it...will fix their issues...will definitely finish ahead of FSU...but I believe someone like either Duke or Virginia tech might shock some people....

I once got a cab ride out of Midway in Chicago from a guy who claimed to be Styx go-to driver. I don't think he was talking about the river Styx, although that may explain some things that have happened since...

Are there any UNC fans on this board?

Plenty! But I guess they are afraid to wander off the acc thread. I would like to read their take. Plenty of good volleyball in the Triangle area too.
Speaking of which, I hope Nelson's family from NC and Amber's family can make the trip. Long drive from Georgia, but doable.
We don't bite.

Are there any UNC fans on this board? Triangle is the only one I know who actively follows most ACC especially the Tar Heels I am not a fan but not a hater just indifferent. UNC did themselves no favors with this schedule. They can win against the Badgers but it will be tough.

I think UNC will be much better this weekend. Moving Neuenfeldt from the outside back to the middle will make the team much better just cause she is so dynamic in the middle. Not saying that Nordhorn is bad, but I think Neuenfeldt in the middle is a big upgrade. But now this leaves the second OH position open, and I am not sure who will be the replacement. It may be Leath or Fricano or maybe another player.
Excited to see this what happens in this tournament. UNC should be much better than last weekend, but Wisconsin will also be very hungry after their loss to Western Kentucky. Should make for a great match.

In the Badgers first match of the season against an organized WK team, it was clear the team had been practicing many formations with different players in numerous roles. There was no chemistry or clarity, which let to a lot of hesitation and errors. Now, another week in, I hope roles have become clearer allowing connections to be stronger, not just with Carlini but with passing too.
UNC will also be better, so this should be a great match. I'm really disappointed we won't be able to watch it. For so early in the season, both teams need this win.
