No surprise hear. Springfield is a very good and disciplined team. Charlie Sullivan is one of the best bright minds out there. He know how to recruit and get the most out of his players. Thre two left-sides one from Sports Performance and the other from Eden (very good) are very tough and have had solid careers. He has a few Pace kids on the squad also whoa re notorious for playing hard and overachieving.
On the other hand Pete Hanson is suffering from some very poor recruiting years at OSU. They need to become more aggressive as they are being left in the dust by Lewis, IPFW, LOYOLA, and Ball State....not to mention Quincy who is putting together some good teams.

It's not nice to say bad things about Ohio State or any school for that matter. Why, all schools are good in my eyes and if in my eyes they are all fit to put together a good volleyball team, wouldn't it stand to reason that putting down a school is like poking me in the eye with a sharp stick? That would really hurt. I can feel the pain in my pupils as I write this now. No matter that Springfield is one of the most common names for cities in all of the U.S. Why, even Homer Simpson's hometown is Springfield. Bart Simpson's hometown is also Springfield. That only makes sense because Bart is Homer's son. Well I don't know for sure but they seem to suggest directly that Homer and Marge got together and begat Bart. Also Lisa and little Maggie. I don't know about the dog. They don't talk about the dog much. But it stands to reason Homer and Marge did not beget the dog. Never in all of world history has two humans beget a dog. Well there was the case in The Omen when a dog like creature beget a human devil child Damien. But that's fiction. As long as Ohio State put up a good fight that's all that matters. Poor recruiting? I don't know about this. Time will tell, like wine. You can taste wine after a year but it won't be an accurate reflection of how good that wine will turn out so you have to wait a few more years to see. Some people wait a hundred years before they open up a bottle of wine. Pete Hanson doesn't have 100 years.

Ohio State is just a very young team. With most of the offense comming from Freshman this year. They have a freshman outside that replaces Pieter Olree on the outside and a freshman opposite as well. It is going to take at least a half a year for that team to find its legs. And if there is one thing that i have learned in my years of playing in college. The only thing that matters is the playoffs. Look at Lewis the past 2 years they have lost in the semi's. Ohio State did the same thing in 98' and lost in the finals 99' both times coming in as the favorite. So give Ohio State sometime to grow they will be ok. And to the boys that play at OSU "Sacology 101"

The recruits that you speak of are not even close to Pietre Olree. The LI Boy and the other kid from RVC are ok but have physical limits. Why didn't that kid from Renaissance come to OSU? The setter from Cali, Gio better learn how to pass as Libero is the only DI position that he will be competitive at. BUT is saying this I will say making the transition from HS to College is very hard and being a Freshman and being forced to compete at the highest level every night is difficult. OSU will be middle of the pack for the next couple years until they bring in an impact player.
The kids that IPFW,LEWIS,BSU have brought in the past two years are flat out better athletes. OSU has some serious catching up to do and no one seems to have a clue as to who they are bringing in or what direction they are going.
