I'm looking to travel through Southeast Asia soon. Does anyone know of any good beach volleyball spots down there? I'd love to get a chance to play when I'm down there.

Koh Phangan island in the Gulf of Thailand had a full moon tourney every month. Played with a guy from the Australian tour. It was fun.

yup, theres supposed to be a few spots in thailand where they play, look at the facebook group beach volleyball thailand for more info. i myself have played a bunch in bali at kuta beach, the guys there are nice and friendly and play every day. i think they are getting some more courts set up now! beach volleyball bali is also a facebookgroup where youll find more info about this! bali also has alot of "indoor" volleyball, or call it gravel volleyball with indoor rules. they are usually very happy to let westerners join in!

I was on vaca in Thailand back in 2011 here is what I found. Koh Phangnan, Haad Rin (where the full moon parties are). There was always one court going with a crew of regulars and travelers passing through. Was able to get some decent games in with a mix of players. Some fairly decent. Great place to laze your day away drinking $1 beers, eating cheap awesome Thai food and getting some games in. The only downside was the randomness of your partner...I had some duds where I couldn't hold the courts and then off to the side waiting an hour to get another game in.
Phuket, Kata Beach - seemed to have a couple regular courts. Nice beach. I only played one day and had decent games. I didn't really like Phuket so only stayed a couple days.
Koh Pi Pi - I didnt see any vball, but I loved the place. You'd think there would be a court up there nowadays, but dont know.
Koh Tao (small little dive island close to Koh Phangan). I found one little torn up, gravelly, awful court near the main part of town where people regularly played. Caliber wasn't great - low net, trees hanging over parts of the court. Whatever...get some games in. My favorite memory is playing a couple of Thai "lady boys" that actually were not that bad (pretty tough to tell they were lads too). I lost badly as my partner was a scrub who couldn't keep the ball in play. A few times he actually accidentally gave me a hit-table set that I could get a hold of. The ladyboys would let out a wonderfully high pitched scream, flap their arms around, and prance about in fear like little girls. Once or twice resulting in a perfect dig on a hard swing. The whole beach was looking and I couldn't stop chuckling. My wife watching and was in tears laughing.

Try Boracay in the Philippines. I played BV there during vacation and it has the finest and whitest sand that I've ever seen.
