Have you guys watched Pardon the Interruption on ESPN today, they featured Lewis beating BYU and as they said it might be one of the biggest David vs. Goliath upsets??? They said that it was because Lewis is DII school. All right now, we have duscused this many times but before you answer and write your own opinion take into consideration Pro players on their team and that other stuff we talked about. As for them being DII, that doesnt matter because being DII they have more advantages as in less rules for recruting and besides they play DI v-ball so that is out. I like that show but they have no clue when it comes to volleyball. And now for my opinion about David vs. Goliath. Since i am from middwest and i pretty much know everything that is going on at Lewis and am directly connected with that i think that in this case Goliath won. Lewis was not David, i think that was BYU. Lewis just sickens me. The worst thing that could happen to NCAA v-ball is Lewis winning, and unfortunately it did. But, anyways things happen and i hope it never happens again. However, it doenst look like NCAA will take any action so look forward to Lewis becoming next UCLA with some pro players that are coming in. How would you like that???

In talking with the IPFW players....their program was actually hurt by going to D-I. Different academic requirements....lost a player or two....and the admissions could not be as creative with their aid packages. This was an administrative decision not one made by Arnie.
Their are obviuosly ADVANTAGES to DII.
Now to the Pro thing. Again I have my thoughts and feelings on their whole program....even going back tot he first days with their Canadians....but until they have OFFICIALLY broken rules I have to reserve judgement, shake my head, and explain to all my friends who watched the game because they have leaned to like the sport where LEWIS .

They have OFFICIALLY broken rules, which is why they had to forfeit games last year. So don't tell me that they HAVEN'T EVER broken rules they have...
...as for the PTI reference...i saw it this afternoon and the simple fact that they brought it up on the show and then had no idea what they were talking about was bad for men's volleyball. They don't know crap about volleyball and are only lookin' at the fact that Lewis is D2 beating a D1 team. They have no idea that men's volleyball is such a "small world" and is not as one-sided as many other sports. The talent is so condensed within the few teams that almost every team is vulnerable on a bad night...
As far as the greatest "David vs. Goliath" match-up ever...NOT EVEN CLOSE...haven't these people seen Rocky IV... IVAN DRAGO FOLKS...Rocky beats IVAN DRAGO--IN THE SOVIET UNION!
He ran through snow and pulled a plow to train... all after his dear friend Apollo was killed by the Russian...recall Drago, "If he dies, he dies."
Remember these great words spoken by America's greatest fictional athlete... "Since I got here, I've seen a lot of changin'. Changes in the way yous feel about me, and the way I's feel about chu. You got 2 guys in the ring, practically killing each other, but i guess that's better than 20 million. But if I can change, and yous can change, WE ALL CAN CHANGE!"

Funny you should mention Rocky. I'm watching Rocky IV right now and wondering how come when he leaves, his kid is like 7 or 8 and when he gets back in Rocky V the kid is suddenly a teenager. How long did they leave the boy alone for?
