Any penalties for transferring within the Pac 12 conference? Yes. My understanding is that transfer within PAC-12 must sit out one season (can practice but not play) AND loses 1 year of eligibility. However there are situations in which they can petition for a waiver of either or both of these restrictions. And one of those situations is if the athlete is not renewed at the first school. This would seem to apply to Shebby.

So, Colorado has lower academic standards than UCSB?
Hard to believe.

Reply to Pac-12 Transfer Discussion: Chelsey Keoho transferred from Colorado to Oregon two seasons ago and didn't have to sit out. I think she was on scholarship at CU but not sure at Oregon.

Taylor Racich - Opposite - Pepperdine to Lipscomb
Racich played indoors for two seasons before becoming a beach only player her final two seasons. She is now a graduate student and her first tournament of the season will be at Pepperdine ironically

Official announcement of Frankie Shebby joining the Colorado Buffaloes. Since it was discussed earlier in this thread, wanted to mention the article says she IS sitting out this season (which might be good anyways from an academics perspective?). At least I don't get any indication from the article she's losing a year of eligibility (and the article say she's a "junior transfer"), so hopefully (as a CU fan and for her and the team's sake) she ( ) will still be a junior next season. www.cubuffs.com/news/2016/8/4/shebby-joins-colorado-volleyball-team.aspx
