VT Contest results for 10/7: Bethune-Cookman Louisiana-Lafayette Pacific South Dakota State UC Irvine UCSB So far, IdahoBoy® 5-1 Pablo 3-3 Shirt. Pablo goes 12 - 3 on the night, and the only three matches it misses are those in the VT list. BTW, that SDSU/Northern Colorado match is interesting as the battle of the New DI Teams. What the hell is SDSU doing winning it, though? That's what I get for checking yesterday to see how well these new DI teams are doing and noting that, Hey, Northern Colorado has not been bad...

There is NO WAY Lamar should have lost. The fix was obviously in for this one.
This contest is officially under protest until I can review IB's bank account. I'm guessing he bought off the refs.

Of course, given last week, he needs it.

Thank you very much.

It's weird talking about yourself in third person, but I had to see my colored name. After reviewing my picks today, I think I will miss 3-4, maybe more. We'll see!

so can anyone tell me how Norfolk state got a minus pablo number? Sorry, I just noticed this. Absolute rankings in Pablo are meaningless. If you will note, the #1 team is always set to 10K (in DII and DIII, I use 20K). Therefore, a team will end up negative if the range of the field is greater than 10K. This is not uncommon at the beginning of the year, but as the season goes on, it tends to compress. OTOH, a team is so bad that they get blown out by even the other worst teams (Bethune Cookman, for example) will be dangling well below the bottom of the stack.

IB is 29 - 8? But Pablo picked up one more match on you so far today with FAMU over NC. Both take Boise St, so IB will beat Pablo this week.

I went 13-6 today... 6 misses!! ouch! Actually, IB went 14-6 on 10/9, for an overall 30-8. The Boise State v. San Jose State tie-breaker looms large.
