Hammons would be an upgrade to the OH2 position from this past season. At passing in the very least. Serve receive is USC's Achilles heel. She absolutely would not be. No offense, but I don’t get all the love for this girl. She was average at best at UF.

No offense, but I don’t get all the love for this girl. She was average at best at UF. IMO average would be an upgrade based on the previous season. We either had Schirmer (weak passer, mediocre defender, tentative hitter) or Owes (really bad passer, bad defender, error-fest hitter). Also Botkin is a poor passer, so at least hopefully we'd be down to 1/3 poor passers.

I wouldn’t believe that. As big of a hammons fan as I am, she’s not very good at defense. Very good ball control and serve receive but has not proved herself to be a great defender whatsoever. She’s not known for digging heat or chasing down tips / shots off the block. Just has really good serve receive and is decent everywhere else She has potential though. Plus, it has been done in the past. Cat Knop who was an outside at the beginning of her career switched over to the libero position after not being the best at defense. She ended up helping Florida to a national championship. So maybe it could be done w Paige? Caroline Knop was an outstanding all-around player and back row defender during her prep days. I saw her club team many times. I’m not sure why she chose Michigan out of high school. During her junior year and senior year (with a broken finger) at Florida she was outstanding at digging and passing.
She was always good at floor defense and passing. It’s not like she suddenly became much better when she landed in Florida.
Bring back Mick.

she mainly came for beach but is playing indoor too Where does it say she's playing beach? USC is losing a lot of their roster so it would make sense, but I haven't heard any rumors of her joining.

Future of the USC setter position is looking like they’ll have 2 elite setters on the bench. Kinda similar to Stanford. Lazaro, Tuiniga, Faumuina are all ELITE. I don’t see Mia beating out Lazaro at first... but I’ve learned my lesson to her against Mia. That girl can BALLL and is a born winner. So stoked for USC to have setter wealth finally! Now if UCLA could get some of that luck SMH.

Y’all are really sleeping on Hammons Her career hitting percentage at Florida is almost sub-200. I'll stay asleep, thanks.
